TheZenless Zone ZeroYouTube channel has uploaded a video that shows glimpses of the upcoming banner character, Qingyi. The new video shows Qingyi’s backstory, and it’s a lot darker than players were expecting. In the video, players watch from Qingyi’s perspective as she lives through several past lives, fighting ferociously to survive in each one. The video ends with Qingyi waking up in the hospital, watched over byZhu Yuan of the Criminal Investigation Special Response Teamfaction.
Qingyi’s new video pulls at heartstrings thanks in part to its ethereal song, titled “Crimson Pierces the Twilight,” written especially for her. Sang by Vanessa Kim and Qiu Danli, the song provides a beautiful backdrop to the story revealed in the video, and additional explanation of what’s happening in the video: “Reset countless times, my memory’s long gone. When did this all start? And where will it lead? This world knows only cruelty. In this life, will I find loyalty?”

A second, short video released on theZenless Zone ZeroYouTube confirms that she’s a detective with unique abilities thanks to her robotic body.

Not much else is known about Qingyi, except that she was found in the ruins of Old Eridu. She is an android who, according to the new video, has lived many years and been reset many times over the course of her lifetime. When she makes her debut onZenless Zone Zero, Qingyi will use stun and electric powers, according to theZZZX account.
She might look young, but Qingyi is described as having “youthful appearance, old soul.” It’s clear now that this is meant literally, as Qingyi possesses many years of experience as a fighter and detective. She’s described as calm and composed and will likely make an excellent addition to anyZenless Zone Zeroteam.
