ThoughZenless Zone Zerois amid an Anomaly DPS meta, Harumasa brings a combo-focused playstyle that works well if built correctly. Unfortunately, Attack units have fallen a bit to the wayside in ZZZ. Though he can still clear content, the recent flow of Anomaly units that seamlessly work together has propelled him to the top. Whilehe is a free agent, Harumasa also has the misfortune of being released alongside Miyabi, who was highly anticipated and possibly the strongest character in the game.
Harumasa is a critical-focused unit that revolves around his enhanced dash attack. Upon using his fifth basic attack, EX Special, or when a teammate triggers an Anomaly, six Electro Quiver orbs will appear on the field. By using his aimed ranged attack, Harumasa can make these orbs attach to an enemy and mark them, stacking up to eight times. This marked enemy will then put Harumasa’s dash attack into its special state, where he attacks with his swords and consumes two stacks with each attack to increase his damage and daze.

Best W-Engine For Harumasa
Options Aplenty
Like with all characters,Harumasa’s best engine is his signature, Zanshin Herb Case. At base, this engine gives a 10% critical rate for free and another 10% for 15 seconds after anyone in the team stuns an enemy or triggers an Anomaly. It also gives 48% more critical damage when leveled to 60. Finally, it enhances the Electric damage of dash attacks by 40%.
Zenless Zone Zero 1.4 - Release Date, Characters, New Areas, & What Changes To Expect
The release date, characters, new areas, and what changes to expect in Zenless Zone Zero 1.4 are all detailed for anyone to check out if they want.
The second-best engine option for Harumasa is Soldier 11’s signature, The Brimstone, one ofZenless Zone Zero’s best W-Engines. This is a simple engine, but provides all the buffs Harumasa needs. At level 60, it will give an extra 30% Attack, with an additional boost of up to 27% upon hitting basic attacks, dodge counters, or dash attacks. This engine does not offer the same level of specific buffs and ease as the signature but can work with minimal difference if Harumsa is built correctly.

For 4-Star options, though something easy to get as Starlight Engine works, the new 1.4 event engine Marcato Desire is the best free-to-play option. This option gives a 20% critical rate boost at level 60, which is a boon for a 4-Star. To compensate for this, the Attack buff given from using an EX Special or Chain Attack is capped at 9.6% at S5, with an additional 9.6& if the target has an Anomaly. However, since this is an event engine, getting it to this maximum level should be easy.
Best Drive Discs For Harumasa
Sticking With Simple Options
Even though two new sets were released during 1.4, Harumasa does not use either of them directly. Instead,he uses the Thunder Metal set for its Electric damage increase at two pieces and a large attack increase at four pieces when any enemy is Shocked. This condition makes it relatively easy to keep up with a Stunner and even easier when using an Anomaly character.
The second-best set is the Woodpecker Electro. This set has become the standard for DPS units given its helpful boost to critical rate, and Attack increases when he lands a critical hit. Overall, this set has a minimal loss, if any, making it an ideal choice if players have leftover discs. This set can also be used as the extra two-piece for Thunder Metal or vice versa with Thunder Metal for a full Wooderpecker Electro.

How To Get & Use Drive Discs In Zenless Zone Zero
Drive Discs in Zenless Zone Zero are essential for powering up your agents further, but there are only certain ways to get & use them.
If built with the right engine, the best main stats for Discs 4, 5, and 6 are critical damage, Electric damage, and Attack%.Substats will be the standard ones Attack characters look for: critical damage, critical rate, and Attack%. After that, getting more flat Attack or Penetration will help round out his stats.

Best Teams For Harumasa
Limited But Viable
Though he has a lot of buffs from Anomaly characters, his best team is the classic combo with a stunner and support unit.In this case, Qingyi and Rina make up his best team. This is due to the incredible amount of Shock he can apply, and the massive stun buffs fromQingyi and her best builds. A substitute for Qinyi that will work, but with fewer buffs for Harumasa, is Anby.
If one wants to use an Anomaly character, the best options would be Burnice or Grace. Burnice is the best off-field Anomaly character and works well with Harumasa. She appears and inflicts her burn on the enemy, which can then be switched off until it needs to be reapplied. Grace is similar but requires a bit more field time. However, her Electric damage can work better with the specific ways Harumasa is built. This team may not be as fast as his premium team, but it can be more fun/flexible.

Harumasa is one character that will certainly be looking for help in the future. While his premium team is not bad, it is not as smooth as what he wants to play.He would also greatly benefit from an Electro character who could be like Burnice, and apply a lot of Anomaly damage and then sit off-field.
The best Bangboo options are Plugboo or Electroboo, especially with multiple Electric units.
Despite the lack of popularity with Attack units, Harumasa releases in a strong state, especially for being a free unit. The options available make it relatively easy for him to build, but he will still have some complications when hitting the critical thresholds. His free-to-play teams aren’t as strong as other characters, but they still allow him to showcase his potential. Overall, for a free agent, Harumasa and his best builds are an amazing addition toZenless Zone Zero.
