The Hargreeves and the other children got their powers from the marigolds released by Reginald, and inMiraculous, Ladybug and Cat Noir’s powers came from magical jewels known as “Miraculouses”, which sound very similar to the marigolds. Ladybug’s and Cat Noir’s enemy, Hawk Moth, is actually Gabriel Agreste, Adrien’s father, and he has a mission similar to Reginald’s.

The Umbrella Academycomic books were first published in 2007, with the show premiering in 2019, andMiraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noirdebuted in 2015.

Gabriel’s goal is to steal Ladybug and Cat Noir’s Miraculous, as he wants to use them to bring his wife, Emilie, back to life after she fell into a coma after using the damaged Peacock Miraculous.
