Smallville’s Justice League comes back together for a new adventure in excitingDCart that imagines an older version of the team with armored superhero suits. Tom Welling’s Clark Kent only became Superman in the final episode of thelive-action DC TV show. However, he went on multiple missions with other heroes, such as Alan Ritchson’s Aquaman, Justin Hartley’s Green Arrow, and Serinda Swan’s Zatanna, throughoutSmallville’s ten seasons. Some of the show’s heroes ended up becoming part ofSmallville’s prototype version of the Justice League, and they now return in new DC art.

On Instagram,@buffy2villesharedwhat Tom Welling’s older Superman andSmallville’s Justice League could look like today with armored, modern suits.

The DC fan art sees Welling’s Man of Steel wear the hero’s iconic black suit. Superman is not the onlyJustice League memberto appear, as Ritchson’s Aquaman, Hartley’s Green Arrow, Kyle Gallner’s Impulse (Smallville’s Flash), and Laura Vandervoort’s Supergirl all return with updated suits. While the other heroes don more armored looks, Welling’s Superman has the classic black suit, while Vandervoort’s Supergirl wears a very similar suit to one Melissa Benoist’s Supergirl wore in the Arrowverse.

The DC Series Could Be Making A Comeback

Welling and Lex Luthor actor Michael Rosenbaum aretrying to get an animatedSmallvillesequel series made. With that in mind, it is very much possible that fans will get to see the heroes who made up the show’s Justice League return, as the actors want as many stars from the original show to reprise their roles as possible. The sequel series could spotlightSmallville’s Justice League in all its glory, as the series only had a prototype version of the team. Welling’s Superman can lead a mix of older and new heroes to the show’s universe.

10 Things I Need From Grant Gustin’s The Flash Return If It Happens After His Latest DC Comments

Grant Gustin recently commented on whether he could come back as the Flash, and some major elements are needed if the DC star returns as Barry Allen.

All the characters included in the fan art alongside Welling’s Superman are likely members of the fully-fledgedSmallvilleJustice League. However, if the show does end up returning, the DC series willfinally get the chance to introduce Batman and Wonder Woman. Both heroes joined the Justice League in the ‘Smallville Season 11’ comics, and without limits being imposed by the studio, since the sequel would be animated and not clash with DC’s live-action plans, Batman and Wonder Woman could appear. Other heroes like Martian Manhunter, Zatanna, and Booster Gold could also be part of the Justice League.

Our Take On What Smallville’s Justice League Would Look Like Today

Batman And Wonder Woman Can Change The Game

I’m a fan of the ‘Smallville Season 11’ comics and how they expanded the show’s world. If theSmallvilleanimated sequel series ends up happening, then the show can fully dive into characters who barely appeared in the original series or were never introduced and use storylines and locations that would not have been possible due to the live-action budget.Welling’s Superman would be the team’s leader, and even though Batman and Wonder Woman would likely already exist in the show’s universe, I think Hartley’s Green Arrow would continue being his co-captain due to their long friendship inSmallville.
