Four categories with four words each sounds simple, but the daily challenge of the Connections game can prove difficult without a few tips to help.

Today’s Connections Category Hints

SEPTEMBER 01 #447

If you are looking to just get a bit of help and go on your way, you can look at the following hints to get some clues about the categories you are facing today:

GRILL

SEAR

This one was the easiest and fastest for me to guess today. Seeing CHAR and GRILL is what clued meinto the cooking theme, and it was not much longer before I added SEAR in. Deciding on what the last one would be was more of a guess between CHARCOAL and BROWN, but luckily I was able to guess right.

The presence of CHARCOAL did trip me up for a quick second as I thought it more had to do with the parts of a grill, but I corrected fast.

DRUM

HAMMER

This is one of the two trickier categories today, at least in my opinion. Perhaps if I knewmore about my ear anatomyI would have guessed this faster, but the fact that there are two very clear “tool” words and a TOOLBOX in the purple category later, it did throw me off my game. This was the third category I had to guess and unfortunately, it threw me off enough to not get the win.

RAVEN

SABLE

I guessed this category second and before I was stuck having to guess ear anatomy. RAVEN and JET are what clued me into this one, and I was able to guess CHARCOAL and SABLE soon after. This made it fairly easy to guess it was a category aboutdifferent versions of the color black, but unfortunately, it did not take any of the harder words out of the equation. I do like the aesthetic of ravens though, so I am at least glad I was comforted by that.

MOVIE SET

TOOLBOX

I understand what this category is going for now, but I think it’sfairly unlikely people would guess this on their ownunless it was the last four words left. of course, the purple category is often that way, and many times it works out well. Today there was just an unfortunate conflation of tools and ears on my part. However, with any luck you were able to start off your month better than mine thanks to these hints.
