Stardew Valleyis the kind of game that welcomes players of any age, including three-year-olds with some very interesting points of criticism. When it comes to discussing ConcernedApe’s phenomenal Farming RPG, the community often shares their opinions on the various systems and mechanics in a manner that’s significantlymore friendly than most other video game fandoms. The discourse is usually so calm that players will happily hear the feedback of a user who may not have even learned how to properly read and write.

Over on Reddit, userRuby_Blielshared an adorable post regardingthe small criticisms their three-year-old toddler has forStardew Valleyand they actually make a surprising amount of sense.

Mayor Lewis looking embarrassed with his purple lucky shorts

A couple of the complaints have to do with the Farmer being forced to continually stand:She was disappointed that she couldn’t sit and eat a meal of scrambled eggs and that she wasn’t able to sit on the benches at the bathhouseafter a swim. Additionally, the young fan was irked by the fact that she couldn’t bathe in the ocean on Ginger Island and that Leah didn’t eat the eggs that were prepared for her.

Small Touches That Could Go A Long Way

It’s All About The Simulation

As fun as those criticisms are, there is a shred of truth to them. While not being able to sit down and eat food may not be a game-breaking oversight,it is odd that players can purchase all manner of seats and chairs and yet they’re hardly able to use them. The point aboutswimming in the oceanis also interesting; It’s not possible to swim in any natural body of water inStardew Valleybut it is easy to imagine a future where such a feature is added in a major content update.

What’s perhaps most interesting about the toddler’s constructive criticism is the point about Leah not eating the food she was given.Stardew Valleyveterans have long pointed out that the game’s characters often become lifeless shells when they’re married, suggesting that the system should be expanded togive players' spouses more to do. ConcernedApe has done some work tofurther flesh out married lifebut a widely-held opinion is that even more needs to be done.

Stardew Valley’s Mayor Lewis has an infamous pair of shorts that players can use to embarrass him across town or use to unlock easter eggs.

Screen Rant’s Take: Solid Some Points

It’s Certainly Worth Considering This Feedback

WhileStardew Valleyis already bursting with content and ConcernedApe is an incredibly busy man,it’s fun to imagine the developer taking these points to heart. It seems doubtful that a feature that allows players to sit down would be a made focus for the creator, but he has been known to actively listen to the community’s feedback. One has to imagine that the option to take a quick dip in the ocean would put a massive smile on the face of at least one young player.
