Max’s new seriesThe Pittthrives on the strength of its strong cast of characters, who deliver great performances throughout the fast-paced series.Medical dramaThe Pittfollows the doctors and medical professionalsof the emergency department of the fictional Pittsburgh trauma hospital PTMC. In a unique twist, each episode of the series, which was originally conceived as anERrevival, but failed, unfolds during one hour of a single ER shift, the semi-real-time pace of the series making it feel even more immersive.
The Pitt, which got a solid Rotten Tomatoes scoreahead of its debut, is also different from other medical dramas in that if focuses less on the intertwined lives and romances of the doctors, but on the hectic and stressful nature of being a modern-day healthcare worker. The intensity of the trauma center emergency room is put front and center in the medical drama, rather than the personal drama. As such, the actors need to bring their A-game and do a lot of character work in shorts bursts of screentime, andThe Pitt’s cast does exactly that.
