The possibility ofThe Perfect Coupleseason 2 gets a candid response from the showrunner. Based on Erin Hilderbrand’s 2018 novel,The Perfect Coupleis a blend of different tones, largely amurder mystery about a lavish wedding that gets interrupted when a dead body turns upon the day of the ceremony. But it’s also a comedy about a rich family with a fair amount of secrets, with a gamePerfect Couplecastthat includes Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber, Eve Hewson, Billy Howle, Meghann Fahy, Donna Lynne Champlin, Jack Reynor, and Mia Issac.
In an interview withTown & Country, showrunner Jenna Lamia addressed whether the murder mystery could return, sayingthat it would depend on several factors suchas whether the cast would be open to reuniting. Laima’s full quote is below:

If all the elements came together and everybody was enthusiastic and the idea was inspiring enough to gather the same group of talented people together again, I think it’s something that’s possible. I would never say it’s impossible." She adds, “There are definitely questions left at the end. The best shows—regardless if they’re going to do another season—leave you thinking after you’ve watched the final one.
The Perfect Couple Season 2 Doesn’t Need To Happen (But It Might)
It Depends On How Much Of A Hit The Show Becomes
A big reasonThe Perfect Couplehas been greeted generally favorably, despite some mixed reviews, is that it’s a frothy murder mystery soap that doesn’t take itself too seriously. At just six episodes, coming in at roughly five hours, the murder mystery begins and ends with a light touch. As evidenced bythe dance sequence inThe Perfect Couple’s opening credits, this rich family drama aims to be a fun binge with weighty thematic ideas tossed to the side.
Why The Perfect Couple Is So Divisive With Both Critics & Audiences
Nicole Kidman’s new murder mystery series The Perfect Couple is the most popular new series on Netflix despite mixed responses from critics & viewers.
Part of the charm, in other words, is thatthe adaptationis a limited engagement that doesn’t ask too much of the viewerexcept to be entertained by the performances, the story, and the jabs that fly between the characters. The Perfect Couple’s season 1 endingcould very much stand on its own without the need to become a Netflix franchise. Whether it will become an ongoing series has more to do with its performance overall.

But if the showproves to have staying power, still dominating the charts after several weeks and even months, then it may not be too long before news starts to trickle out aboutThe Perfect Coupleseason 2.
Furthermore, Hilderbrand also addressed the possibilities of another season. ViaThe Inquirer and Mirror, she addressed howthe series was interrupted by the writers' and actors' strikes, implying that the show couldn’t reach its fullest potential in its story and setting. While she wasn’t sure if there would be a season 2, she hopes to see “more background from Nantucket” if the series gets a renewal. Read her full comment below:
Although I support any union and the right to organize, and Netflix at the time was public enemy number one, I was heartbroken. In the end, it was really only one shot. Was it the end of the world? No. We certainly could have done a lot more were it not for the strike. Without the strike, and if there is another season – and I don’t know that there will be – hopefully there will be a lot more background from Nantucket.
