What This Means For The Chosen
The Last Supper - Part 1 Is Competing At A Major Level
Thebiblical dramaThe Chosenhas not only succeeded in theaters but continued to grow, as this new record shows. It seems that the decision to title the presentationLast Supperin honor of its narrative content may have helped, as the release debuted during the lead-up to Easter, when the story is most relevant. However, each season premiere has performed well in theaters regardless of its title, with season 4 debuting to nearly $6 million in 2024. Below, see a breakdown of how it compares to the show’s previous theatrical outings:
$4.2 million

$13.4 million
$8.8 million

IfThe Last Supper - Part 1continues on the trajectory implied by the performance of previous theatrical exhibitions ofThe Chosen,it could very well end its theatrical run with an overall gross of $24.2 million or more, which would make it the highest-grossing installment by a wide margin. In fact, that total would outgross the three lowest-earning episode packages put together. It would also outgross many notable non-faith-based titles from recent years, including 2024’sThe Crow($24.1 million) and 2023’sSaltburn($21 million).
Our Take On The Chosen: Last Supper - Part 1 Box Office
Can Part 2 Follow Its Lead?
It remains to be seen if this box office success continues when thecast ofThe Chosenare reunited onscreen once more next weekend. It seems likely thatThe Last Supper - Part 2will see diminishing returns, as have all the follow-up episodes of previous seasons. However, that could still leave plenty of room for it to become the second highest-grossing installmentof the franchise, continuing to capitalize on the impending Easter celebrations.
