Netflix finally released the trailer forBattle Campseason 1, and the show looks even better than I imagined.Battle Campis a brand-new competition show that will air exclusively on Netflix later this month. While living in cabins like they’re at summer camp, the contestants ofBattle Campare competing for $250,000.
A few weeks ago, Netflix announced thatBattle Campwill featurecompetitors from other Netflix reality shows, giving audiences the chance to see more of their favorite cast members.Some of the cast members have appeared on competition shows before, possibly giving them an advantage over the cast members who came from dating shows or docuseries. The cast includes people from shows likeLove Is Blind, The Circle, Squid Game: The Challenge, Too Hot To Handle, Selling The OC, The Ultimatum: Queer Love, The Mole, Cheer,andPerfect Match.

The first thing that shocked me while watching theBattle Campseason 1 trailer was the mention of"camp crushes"during a clip of two people kissing under the covers. Whileit’s not clear from the brief clip who was locking lipsor if anyone else will develop feelings during the show, the possibility of a new reality TV power couple is exciting.Netflixis already known for their dating shows, so I can’t wait to find out if anyone finds love while also vying for a quarter million dollars.

TheBattle Campformat seems to be a mix of other fan-favorite competition shows. It shares a similar setting to CBS’sBuddy Games,but the competitions seem more akin to MTV’sThe Challenge. Whilesome challenges in the trailer are reminiscent of summer camp, like blobbing, kayaking, and tug-of-war, others will test the contestant’s biggest fears.

I’m excited to see such high-stakes challenges that will test the cast members physically and mentally.

Those votes will help determine whose names will end up on the spinning wheel.
Based on the trailer, I thinkBattle Campwill be an exciting, innovative new reality competition show. I can’t wait to see cast members I’ve already grown to love from other shows. The fish-out-of-water element will be extra fun, and I think the show will be filled with fun and drama.
Battle Campseason 1 will be available to stream on Netflix on July 26, 2025.
