Matt Cherniss:Ted Lasso has been nothing short of a juggernaut, inspiring a passionate fanbase all over the world, and delivering endless joy and laughter, all while spreading kindness, compassion and unwavering belief. Everyone at Apple is thrilled to be continuing our collaboration with Jason and the brilliant creative minds behind this show.
Deadlinealso reports thatfilming is expected to kick off in Kansas in Julybefore moving back to the show’s home in the UK, and that casting for other roles is now getting started. Juno Temple is also reportedly in talks to reprise her role as Keeley.

What This Means For Ted Lasso Season 4
The Setting May Be The Same, But The Show Will Be Different
While this location report has not yet been officially confirmed by Apple TV+,it makes sense that the season would begin in Kansas, as this is where theTed Lassoseason 3 endingleft its title character, having returned home and begun coaching his son’s soccer team. However, given the fact that the other characters are still UK-based and that Sudeikis confirmed that AFC Richmond will be part of the new season, this location would most likely only appear in the first episode.
The Kansas scenes at the end ofTed Lassoseason 3 were actually shot in California.
It is currently unknown how much time will have passed between the seasons, but if the series does indeed pick up with theTed Lassocastalmost exactly where they left off, this most likely means that AFC Richmond will look very different when the coach returns. Because Keeley and Waddingham’s character Rebecca joined forces to found a women’s team, there could very well be a huge influx of new personalities around the returning characters.
Our Take On The Ted Lasso Update
The Hiatus Could Help The Series
This late renewal means thatTed Lassoseason 4 will come after the longest hiatus yet, beating the 17-month gap between seasons 2 and 3 by a considerable margin. However, this could ultimately benefit the show, as moving forward in time couldallow Lasso to have had a while to settle into his life in Kansas after the seemingly conclusive ending of his arcand come back to AFC Richmond with an entirely new perspective that could shake up the show even more and make it feel fresh and invigorating.
