After discovering that the bottle tree’s numbers are music notes, Jade plays the song on a violin, which causes him and Tabitha to remember the truth of their history in Fromville. It’s revealed thatTabitha and Jade are reincarnations of Miranda and Christopher, and that they’ve been reborn and returned to Fromville several times, but every past version of them has “failed” in their mission to save the children. Tabitha Grieves The Death Of Another Child Shortly After Losing Thomas

ConsideringTabitha and Jim’s son, Thomas, had recently diedbefore they became trapped in Fromville, it’s all the more heartbreaking thatTabitha’s past life revelations mean she’s grieving the loss of yet another child. Not only this, but Tabitha has likely experienced the deaths of several children across her various lifetimes. Her original form lost her daughter to the monsters’ sacrifice, Miranda lost Eloise the same night she died, and Tabitha lost Thomas before becoming trapped, suggesting a similar tragedy occurs in each lifetime.

All in one heavy moment, Tabitha’s memories flood back to her, causing her to grieve the deaths of more children at a time when Thomas’ death is still being processed by each member of the Matthews family. To make it worse, both Thomas’ death and the death of her past-life daughter occurred in situations that left Tabitha feeling guilty over not being able to “save” them. Thomas fatally fell off a changing table while Tabitha and Jim weren’t looking, while her “Anghkooey” child was killed in a sacrifice that she and Jade tried to stop.

Was Thomas' Death A Way To Make Tabitha Remember Her Past In From?

Fromville May Have Sent Her Clues About Her Past Before Arriving

Considering Thomas died shortly before Tabitha became trapped in Fromville,it’s possible that his death was the town’s way of preparing Tabitha for what she would later discover. In addition to thechildren repeating the word “Anghkooey,” there have been various tactics to attempt to get Tabitha and Jade to remember who they are and what happened in their past lives. Much of this occurred once they had already come to town, butTabitha’s childhood nightmares of the abandoned campby the lake prove it also happened long beforehand.

“They’re Not Your Children Anymore”: What Thomas’ Line Means To Jim In From Season 3, Episode 4

The Matthews family gets another phone call from “Thomas” in From season 3, episode 4, which includes a haunting message about Julie and Ethan.

Tabitha losing a child in a situation that she and Jim blame themselves for doesn’t seem to be a coincidence after discovering she couldn’t save her daughter from the sacrifice in Fromville. Tabitha’s purpose has always been to come back to Fromville and try to fulfill the mission to save the children, which she and Jade failed to do in their original lives. After losing Thomas beforeFrom, Tabitha wouldtragically be given even more emotional, redemptive motivation to save her daughteronce she remembered her past.
