As players explore the city of Mirogana in the early chapters ofStar Wars Outlaws, they may come across a gambler down on his luck who offers them a choice. He tells Kay that he’s run out of money, but believes a hot streak is incoming; he just needs a little bit of cash to get the ball rolling. Players can either turn him down outright, or give him a loan in one of two denominations (either 100 or 500 credits) to help him along.

It may seem like a minor difference, but like manychoices made inStar Wars Outlaws, even this one has consequences. What players do here can either cause them to secure or miss out on a reward down the line, a worthy chunk of change that can come in handy during the early game.

What Happens If You Leave The Gambler In Star Wars Outlaws?

Pros & Cons Of Not Giving The Gambler Credits

If the player decides not to give the gambler any more money, absolutely nothing will happen. He’ll scoff at Kay’s greed and end the interaction. Players likely won’t see him again; he may appear in the same capacity later, but don’t think he’ll come looking for revenge or waving his lucky winnings in Kay’s face. After this, the gambler basically fades into the background, perhaps leaving players with the sense that they missed an opportunity.

What Happens If You Give The Gambler Credits In Star Wars Outlaws?

Pros & Cons Of 100 Vs. 500 Credits

If Kay instead decides to give the gambler some of her money, she’ll get it back - and then some - in a later scene. After choosing to give the gambler either 100 or 500 credits, Kay should go off elsewhere and complete a few otherStar Wars Outlawsmissions- main quests, Intel Chains, side activities, whatever - then return to the gambler in Mirogana. He should have a white dot over his head, indicating that he’s available to speak to, and once players do, will reward them with their initial investment plus a 50% return.

The gambler can always be found sitting outside the Canto Fathier Racing betting station in Mirogana.

Playing Sabacc in Star Wars Outlaws

It’s worth mentioning that the exact rewards of this side quest differ depending on how much money Kay gives the gambler: if she gives him 100 credits, she’ll get 150 back, and if she gives him 500, she’ll get 750. Therefore,it’s best to give the gambler the full 500 creditsas long as Kay can afford it. If not, a couple rounds of fathier betting or sly Sabacc playing should earn her more than enough. The 100 credit option is also acceptable, but leads to a pretty negligible return.

The opening scenes ofStar Wars Outlawsteach players to stay on guard. Scammers abound in the galactic underbelly, but occasionally, it’s okay to show a little trust and help out someone in need. This is one such case, in which helping out a destitute gambler can pay off in dividends. Choosing to give a stranger 500 credits is a bold choice, but players can do so knowing they’ll get it back before long, and have a little extra cash in theirStar Wars Outlawswallets.
