Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verselooks to be the conclusion of Miles Morales' story, which gives it an advantage overSpider-Man: No Way Home, the conclusion of Tom Holland’s “Home” trilogy in theMCU. No official release date has been announced, but it is possibleSpider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Versemight come out in 2025, following anew update regarding the film’s production. The same creative team behind the first two films will be returning for the trilogy’s conclusion.
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Versewill presumably pick up where the second film left off.Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’sendingfinishes with an exciting cliffhanger of Miles Morales meeting a variant of himself who happens to be the Prowler. Not only will itbe the conclusion of theSpider-Versetrilogy, but possibly the conclusion of Miles Morales' story in the animated franchise. This is something thatSpider-Man: No Way Homedidn’t do, makingSpider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Versenailing its ending even more important.

Every Spider-Man Universe That Appears In Across The Spider-Verse
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse takes Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy to many different universes, as the multiverse plot brings some big surprises.
Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse Is Set To End The Movie Series With The Third Film
Fans have seen Miles Morales come into his own inSpider-Man: Into the Spider-Verseand refuse to sit back and let tragedy happen inSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. It’s exciting to think about the possibilities in the third film, but more importantly,Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Versewill be the end of the animated film series.Being a definitive end for this particular series makes it feel even more important. The end ofSpider-Man Across the Spider-Versesets the stage for possibly the best movie to end the trilogy with.
TheSpider-Versetrilogy could be considered the greatest superhero trilogy of all time.

IfSpider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Versecan live up to remarkably high expectations and reach the same levels as the first two films, theSpider-Versetrilogy could be considered the greatest superhero trilogy of all time. The first film won the Oscar for Best Animated Movie, whileSpider-Man: Across the Spider-Versewas also nominated. (It lost toThe Boy and the Heron.)There has been an upward trajectory at the box office from the first to the second film, setting the stage forSpider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verseto be the highest grossing movie in the trilogy.

How Having A Contained Movie Trilogy Makes The Spider-Verse Films Different To The MCU Trilogy
Miles Morales' trilogy will differentiate from Peter Parker’s “Home” trilogy by actually being a conclusive story.Spider-Man: No Way Homeconcludes a chapter in Peter Parker’s life, but wasn’t a definitive end to his story. It ends with the promise of a new direction for the series, with Peter on his own, with nothing left from his past. It’s open-ended in a way thatSpider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Versemight not be.
The MCU’sSpider-Mantrilogy is also different to every otherSpider-Manfranchise in one big way so far. It is the firstSpider-Manseries to make it to the fourth installment after Raimi’s series ended whileSpider-Man 4was being worked on andThe Amazing Spider-Mannever got a third installment. If this new era of Peter Parker in the MCU introduces Miles Morales, it makes sense thatSpider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Versewould be the closing chapter in his animated story.

The Spider-Verse Franchise Is Still Set To Continue
Of course, the franchise as a whole won’t end despite theSpider-Versetrilogy concluding its own story. The biggest spinoff so far will be aSpider-Man Noir live action seriesfor Amazon Prime featuring Nicolas Cage as the titular hero. It is currently titledSpider-Noir, but no release date has been announced yet. ASpider-Womanfilm starring Gwen Stacy is also on Sony’s to-do list, as well as the eventual introduction of Miles Morales into live action.
Even though Nicolas Cage will be starring inSpider-Noir, it is not exactly the same Spider-Man Noir that appeared inSpider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.

Another show that was announced was a live-action series featuring the character Silk. Unfortunately,Silk: Spider Societywas canceled after years of development. Despite the news, it’s encouraging that Sony wants to continue to build out its Spider-Man universe in interesting ways. They have largely not found success with their Spider-Man villain films, but theirSpider-Versefilms are remarkable andSpider-Noirlooks promising. With the fourth installment of Tom Holland’s series possibly including the multiverse again, the possibilities are endless.
