It’s no secret thatSpace Marine 2is best played with a squad of friends, especially when it comes to the punishing Veteran difficulty. Enemies are significantly more aggressive and hit much harder, meaning those who may want to take on the experience as a solo Ultramarine are in for a potentially frustrating time.
OnSteam, Saber Interactive dropped the patch notes forSpace Marine 2’s latest update, and beyond adding support for ultra-wide monitors and private lobbies for co-op Operations, it also makes some serious balance adjustments. In the campaign,enemy aggressiveness in Veteran Difficulty has been decreased to allow for a “better single-player experience,“but this isn’t to say that the battle against the Tyranids will be a pushover. To compensate for the enemy nerfs, players' health has been slightly reduced to ensure that they’re not able to quickly storm through Veteran.

The Veteran Difficulty nerfs will be a major win for most soloSpace Marine 2players but Saber Interactive didn’t stop there. The other major addition is the Sparring Arena, which isa special arena in the Battlebarge that will allow users to engage in friendly PvP matches with the members of their squad. The perfect way topractice with different weaponsor simply work on tactics, it’s a welcome addition to an already-packed game.
Players who like to customize their characters and enjoy playing around withunique colors and palettescan now reset custom presets to speed up the process of switching styles. In terms of gameplay, some changes have been made to the effectiveness of certain weapons;The Power Fist deals significantly more damage when it’s fully charged while Med Stims now restore both contested health while also healing the user.
