There are a ton of different collectibles inSouth of Midnight, with one of them being tin flips, which are basically aluminum siding panels that Hazel can use Strand Push to actually flip over. Tracking these down in each chapter and flipping them over will award you with a little bit of Floof, and there are a few achievements tied to this task as well. There are quite a few tin flip locations in the game, so whenever you see them during your regular progression, be sure to give them a flip.
South of Midnightis a little tediousat times, and tracking down all the collectibles might require some backtracking or replaying chapters, as tin flips and other collectible items are often missable. You can replay chapters from the Load Game menu in South of Midnight. Flipping all the tins in the game will unlock the"A Great Southern Tradition"achievement. You’ll also unlock the Finder’s Keepers achievement simply by flipping your first tin. You won’t start flipping tins until you reach Chapter 2, as you need the Strand Push ability.

Strand Push Unlocked
There are four tin flips in Chapter 2, which is the first chapter you’ll actually be able to do a tin flip. I completely missed the first two of these as abeginner toSouth of Midnight(i.e., I wasn’t paying attention), so be sure tograb them before using Strand Push on the cartand hopping over to the other side. Otherwise, you’ll have to restart the chapter and run through all the starter areas once again.

The first of these is right next to one of the readable collectibles you’ll come across at the end of a pier near a gas station. The final of these tin flips can easily be missed, so keep an eye out for the hidden area behind the logs after learning wall jump (the part where the ghosts escape).

South Of Midnight Has Way Too Many Collectibles, And I Quit The Game Because Of It
South of Midnight seems like a PS3 and Xbox 360-era action-adventure game, but it has a nasty twist with its collectibles. Can you handle over 2,000?
The other two are quite obvious if you’re keeping your eyes open, one just after clearing the first stigma around the cottage, and the other just after you land from the long wall run on the green cliffside.

Only Chapters 11 & 12 Have Tin Flips
Believe it or not, Chapter 10 does not include any tin flip locations, so don’t drive yourself crazy searching around for any missing ones. They make a comeback in Chapter 11, but there’s only one, and the final tin flip locations are in Chapter 12.Chapters 13 & 14 do not include any further tin flips either,as these are the endgame levels and are mostly focused on wrapping up narrative elements. Once you flip the second tin in Chapter 12, you should unlock the"A Great Southern Tradition"achievement.

There are so many that they can easily overwhelm you to the point where you don’t want to go searching anymore, focusing instead on the game’s fun platforming aspects.
