The quote does not make it seem like there are any plans forLokiseason 3 to happen at this time. However, it is interesting that the executive did not outright shut down the chances of the beloved series coming back, instead leaving the door open for Hiddleston’s Loki to return.

Lokiended perfectly. Sure, it was a bittersweet ending, as Loki has to live alone forever in order to save his friends and keep the multiverse safe. However, it wasthe most selfless move that an MCU character could make, and the fact that it came from someone who has a huge history as an arrogant villain is incredible. That is especially true since the Loki variant the show focuses on was pulled from when the character had just lost to the Avengers, so he was still firmly a villain.

Over two seasons,Tom Hiddleston’s Loki had enormous character development. While sad,Lokiseason 2’s ending was in tune with the character’s journey in the series, and if season 3 were to happen, that ending would have to be undone. There is no way thatLokiseason 3 could just keep the title character sitting on his throne and watching over the multiverse without interacting with his friends again. Loki’s new MCU role is a great ending to his story, being tragic for him but giving others hope, andLokiseason 3 continuing the story would disrupt it.
