He abandoned his responsibility as a father and husband after marrying Robyn. When speaking about his relationship with Meri,Kody told her it was her fault that he was no longer interested in her.
Kody treated his first wife poorly until their official divorce in 2023.Nothing has changed inSister Wivesseason 19, with Kody still treating Meri badly. When discussing their divorce, Kody also stated his marriage to Meri was miserable andinsinuated he had married the wrong person(viaTLC).

Robyn was younger than his other wives, which excited Kody. He alienated his family and focused his attention on Robyn. The 55-year-old family patriarch wished his family would be together once again so he could be a better father to his children. However, this might be a little too late for Kody, especially after theSister Wivesparticipant alienated himself from his olderkids. Mykelti Ann Padron said thingswould change if their father took more accountabilityfor his actions.
“I think that if he took more accountability in his actions his kids, maybe not all of them, but at least some of them would reach out.”
With their strained relationship, most of Kody’s children,including Paedon Rex Brown, Mykelti, Ysabel Paige Brown, and Robert Garrison Brown, have publicly spoken out about how distant their dad was. During that season, the father of 18 fully embraced his patriarchal role,and the worst part was he compared his wives to dogs during the tell-all.Since then, Kody has been irredeemable. His actions and words towards his ex-wives and their kids have made the situation worse. Saying he would love to have his family together and with the little act from Robyn about fixing his relationship with them seemed disingenuous.

Kody’s relationship with his other kids and ex-wives has reached a point of no return.Christine got married and appears happy, whereas Janelle and Meri are enjoying their lives without Kody controlling their every move. Janelle seemed so over Kody she didn’t invite him to Savannah Brown’s high school graduation party. As usual, Kody said he would have loved to be part of the celebration,but his former wives conspired to exclude him and Robyn.
Kody has been having a rough time accepting the reality of having one wife. Much of what was holding the family together is gone, including their home in Coyote Pass. Kody, the once proverbial poster boy for polygamy, will never have back the family he gladly discarded with no remorse. With theSister Wivesstar’s lack of accountability, it will be interesting to see how much effort Kody will put into having a relationship with his kids again.
