Married at First Sightfans are screaming “Shame on them,” as the season 18 experts have been failing the cast and ruining their reputations.Married at First Sightseason 18viewers have already watched the five couples say I do at the altar, go on their Mexico honeymoons, and settle into life living together as they approach their one-month anniversaries. The five pairswere matched together by a panel of three experts; Dr. Pepper Schwartz, Pastor Cal Roberson, andDr. Pia Holec, all of whom have been the same panel sinceMAFSseason 15.

The experts are not only tasked with matching the couple but also guiding them through the eight-week-long experiment. They are meant to step in when couples can’t navigate their relationships and also deescalate situations that could derail the couples. However, the experts have a very poor success rate of only 12 out of 64 couples matched as a franchise total. InMAFSseason 18,the experts have been doing at a bad job at counseling the couples. It’s a failure on their part, and it’s damaging their reputations as therapists.

Dr. Pia Gave Ikechi A Pass For His Volatile Behavior

It Was Inappropriate

Married at First Sightseason 18 cast member Ikechi Ojoré was originally smitten by his wife, Emem Obot, but has grown to call her"aggressive.“He is findingLifetime’s Emem too direct and inquisitive, and it caused him to pull back. In a facilitated meeting with Dr. Pia, Ikechi claimed Emem was sexually aggressive towards him, and came onto him when he didn’t want it. Upon Dr. Pia’s unprofessional insistence Emem apologize to Ikechi to mend things despite Ikechi’s blatantly bad attitude, Emem shared her response.

Married At First Sight’s Experts in side by side images looking concerned

A Reddit thread byu/ProudSound2835, called out Dr. Pia as taking the wrong approach to the situation in a way that not only gave Ikechi a pass but also dimmed Emem’s light.Dr. Pia disgraced herself and failed Emem and Ikechi as a whole.

“Watching this woman apologize to this ‘man’ for being herself was one of the most heartbreaking scenes I’ve seen on this show. Not to mention that there’s an expert supporting and mediating this conversation. Shame on them, on Ickechi, the producers, etc. This woman is vibrant, successful, full of life and genuine.”

Pastor Cal & Dr. Pepper Are Missing The Mark With Their Advice

Pastor Cal & Dr. Pepper Are Off-Base

Dr. Pepper and Pastor Cal have also not been effective inMAFSseason 18. They have been visiting the couples together to gauge the progress of their relationships but have been off-base in their feedback. And it’s been too little too late.

They are failing to push the couples in positive directions and take ownership of their mistakes and shortcomings.

While they have called out certain behaviors, like Michelle Tomblin’s closed-offness towards her husband David Trimble, they are not counseling the couples specifically enough to realize any real change or help them see paths forward success and understanding.

Cast

Based on the Danish version of the series, Married at First Sight is a reality show/social experiment that gives singles a chance to find a lifelong partnership with one particular caveat: they must agree to marry a stranger arranged the moment they meet. Experts provide counseling and guidance as they help couples navigate their new marriage with their unknown partner and highlight the journey of the newlyweds from wedding to honeymoon to beginning their new lives together. At the end of eight weeks, couples will decide to stay married or divorce.
