SEAL Teamseason 7’s"Mission Creep" is an episode defined by self-destruction,with Jason, Ray, and Drew all trying their best to actively self-sabotage themselves and all the progress they have made since the beginning of their stories on the show. The Paramount+ military drama, created by Benjamin Cavell, is in the midst of airing its seventh and final season, with only a couple of episodes left until the series finale. SinceSEAL Teamis coming to a close, the show is seemingly making the characters hit rock bottom before (hopefully) giving them happy and satisfying endings.

The SEALs Continue Trying To Implicate China In The Drug Trade

After capturing and being forced to let go of Jun Yilin (a fentanyl precursor magnate associated with Sai Lou, a Chinese criminal syndicate)inSEAL Teamseason 7, episode 6, Bravo returns home in episode 7. However, the fight to implicate China in the drug trade isn’t over yet. One of the barrels offentanyl precursor that Bravo tagged during one of their previous missions ping a new location — Honduras,while the rest was shipped to Mexico.

Lieutenant Davis discovers that a former Honduran Special Forces colonel, Ramone Nazario, is doing China’s dirty work. In exchange,China is using drug money to fund Nazario’s plans to overthrow the Honduran government.So, Command sends Bravo (along with Davis) to Honduras to prove the connection between China and Nazario. When the SEALs get there, they raid drug trade targets but come up empty. However, at the end of season 7, episode 7,theSEAL Teamcharactersfind millions of dollars behind a stash house’s walls. They then light the pile of bills on fire to draw out their targets.

Jason made the difficult decision to leave Bravo and return home during a deploymentinSEAL Teamseason 7, episode 5. He thought that he could help Mikey and prove he could have a balanced life between work and his family. Unfortunately,Mikey’s accidental overdose in episode 6 has convinced Jason that he belongs in the fight,not at home with Mandy and his two kids. So, duringSEAL Teamseason 7, episode 7, Jason heads down a path of self-destruction, and his nightmares about the first person he killed certainly don’t help his mental state.

Jason doesn’t know who he is if he’s not Bravo 1, but he needs to look forward, not back.

Jason believes that his identity is inherently tied to the Navy SEALs,which is why he becomes laser-focused on Bravo’s next mission. In doing so, he begins pushing Mandy, Mikey, and Emma away. Commander Blackburn and Captain Walch even offer Jason a new position, which would entail him guiding warfighters through TBI treatment options and tracking progress in combating the epidemic. However, Jason is unenthused by the idea and responds that “carrying a rifle” is how he makes his impact.

Ben, the man many blame forClay’s death inSEAL Teamseason 6, returns in season 7, episode 7, when Sonny brings him to Spenser House. Unfortunately, Ray isn’t too pleased to see him and feels ambushed. Ben has been trying to get his life back on track, and Sonny has pushed his anger towards Ben aside to help him, butRay’s resentment towards Ben is still very much alive.Ray yells at Ben and kicks him out of Spenser House. As a result, Sonny is disappointed in Ray, and Naima is confused as to what is going on.

Ray’s frustrations run deeper than his interaction with Ben inSEAL Teamseason 7, episode 7, though. Following the dicey mission in Malaysia in episode 6,Ray is hesitant about retiring.He explains to Naima that he feels like he’s abandoning his brothers. Consequently, Ray accompanies Bravo to Honduras, even though Jason tells him he can sit this one out because he’s so close to retirement. So, perhaps his blow-up at Ben will fuel Ray’s desire to stay withBravo inSEAL Teamseason 7.

Towardsthe beginning ofSEAL Teamseason 7, episode 7, Davis gets a visit from Admiral Rivas. He explains to her that he’s going to the Pentagon later as he will likely receive a big promotion, andRivas wants Davis to be his right-handif that happens. Of course, Davis is eager to accept the proposal. Rivas is impressed by Davis' work throughout season 7 and is ready to bring her to the top alongside him. However, the optimism that Davis feels quickly fades after speaking with Blackburn.

David Boreanaz is poised to switch up his career again, with the actor revealing that his next project will be different from SEAL Team.

Davis explains to Blackburn how the promotion would mean everything to her, and Blackburn agrees it’s a “career-maker.” Unfortunately,Blackburn doesn’t show any excitement for Davis regarding this possible opportunity at the Pentagon.He tells her to close the door to his office before assumingly having a serious discussion.

Since the conversation between Davis and Blackburn happens offscreen,it’s unclear why Blackburn isn’t enthused about the promotion.An obstacle might be in the way of Davis moving on up to the Pentagon, or Rivas doesn’t want her to accompany him anymore. Whatever the case, viewers will have to wait untilthe next episode ofSEAL Teamseason 7to learn more about Davis' future in the military.

Sonny & Omar Convince Drew To Return To Bravo

The journalist fromSEAL Teamseason 7, episode 3, Chelsea, returns in episode 7 to continue her interview with Drew. She asks him about his parents, and viewers learn thatDrew’s mother left him and his family when he was 12 years oldand moved to France. However, back in Drew’s van, one thing leads to another and Drew kisses Chelsea. She immediately says it’s a mistake and leaves, and Drew, like Jason and Ray, heads down a path of self-destruction in “Mission Creep.”

Elsewhere inSEAL Teamseason 7, episode 7, Sonny makes a pitch to some investors concerning his med kit. With Drew’s help, Sonny convinces them to bet on him and his kit.

Drew goes MIA and misses Bravo’s meeting at Command inSEAL Teamseason 7, episode 7. Sonny and Omar find him drunk in his van and warn him that his running from Bravo will only end in disaster, a hard truth they have learned firsthand. Thankfully, Drew shows up on the plane and goes to Honduras with his fellow SEALs.Sonny and Omar’s advice evidently gives Drew the push he needs to return to Bravo,but the state of his relationship with Chelsea is still up in the air by the end of theSEALTeamepisode.
