FBC Firebreakhas an all-new trailer, giving players a glimpse of evil sticky notes and lethal piggy banks ahead of the game’s upcoming release. The announcement re-introduces players to the world ofControl, where theFederal Beauru of Control works to defeat and contain the Hiss, who have the ability to alter reality.
In the trailer released byRemedy Entertainmentas part of Future Games Show, FBC agents are seen scrambling through the halls of The Oldest House, hunting down “rogue sticky notes” that function as a hive mind. The sticky notes cling to walls, doors, and other players, multiplying faster than they can be taken down.

To cut through the ranks of paper, an agent loads his weapon with various outrageous modifications, including a piggy bank, which deals considerable damage to the Hiss and sticky notes alike when fired.Remedy Entertainment revealed thatFBC: Firebreakwill be released in Summer 2025withday one availability for Game Pass members. Check out the trailer below.
FBC: Firebreak Looks Like A Wacky Entry In The World Of Control
Office Supplies Have Never Looked So Sinister
FBC: Firebreakis not your average first-person shooter. The hive-mind stationery items don’t just attack as little independent notes: we see a giant, blob-like Post-It humanoid creature the agents in the game refer to as “Sticky Ricky” as he descends on players, overwhelming them in a mass of pastel yellow paper horror. The Hiss and other allies can also be overwhelmed by the notes, and if they succumb, they’ll be covered head to toe by stickies, becoming slow-moving yet powerful paper zombies.
Alan Wake & Control Video Game Adaptations In Development
Movie and TV adaptations of popular video games Alan Wake and Control are on the way following a deal between Annapurna and Remedy Entertainment.
You can’t fight out-of-this-world enemies without a few outrageous weapons on your hands, and, likeControl, the tools of the Hiss-hunting trade are made out of what the game universe calls Paranatural Objects. In addition to the piggy bank, which creates a destructive coin-cyclone, players can deploy garden gnomes that create indiscriminate lightning storms and a teapot that shoots out boiling water.

These special weapon attacks will take out enemies as well as allies, so use caution when taking aim.FBC: Firebreakisn’t being considered as a sequel, though Remedy Entertainment has confirmed the game takes place after the events ofControl.
FBC: Firebreak Might Be A Surprise Hit In The Co-op Shooter Space
The Genre Desperately Needs A Rebound
Co-op shooters have been around since the dawn of gaming, fromDuck HunttoHalo. In recent times, additions to the genre have fallen short. Games likeBack 4 BloodandThe Anacrusishaven’t garnered the same satisfaction asLeft 4 Dead, and others likeHelldivers 2have been met with controversyand player boycotts.
FBC: Firebreakmight have what it takes to scratch the co-op shooter itch. The game doesn’t take itself too seriously, and Remedy Entertainment has made its vision for the game clear, saying in aPlayStation Blogpost:

“This being our first multiplayer, we’re very excited to bring it to you, the community, and to that end, we’ve designed FBC: Firebreak to be as easy as possible to get into. This is a game best played together with your friends, having a great time laughing while chaotic and wacky things happen! This isn’t a new hobby that you need to log onto every day for rewards. None of that FOMO stuff here. Just get together with your friends over the weekend for a good time.”
Simplistic, off-the-beaten path fun may be what it takes forFBC: Firebreakto break through the monotony of the co-op shooter genre, and thankfully we don’t have too long to wait for its release.
