A variety of new games were revealed forPlayStation Plusin October 2024. Divided into three different tiers, PlayStation Plus is Sony’s subscription service for both online play and distribution of games. At the lowest tier, Essential, it basically grants players access to online features, and throws in a handful of freebies every month. At higher tiers, Extra and Premium, it works more like Xbox Game Pass, with a library of games available at no additional cost, including day-one releases and PlayStation classics.

During the State of Play presentation on September 24, Sony spent some time discussing thenew releases for PlayStation Plusduring the following month.October is all about horror games, and that’s reflected in the PS Plus lineup for the month, with a handful of terrifying titles available on each and every tier.

PS Plus games typically become available on the first Tuesday of each month. October 1 happens to fall on a Tuesday this year, so PS Plus games will be available from the very beginning of the month.

You Can Now Experience PlayStation’s Best Unplayable Horror Game Thanks To Dedicated Fan

An especially talented PlayStation fan managed to make one of the most notoriously delisted games playable again with some creative thinking.

The only game confirmed for PS Plus Premium in the coming months so far isThe Last of Us Part 1, and it doesn’t even come out in October - it’ll be available on the service a few days early, on September 26, to coincide with the in-game date on which a zombie outbreak consumed the world.The Last of Usis another survival horror game, with a heavy emphasis on stealth and resource management. It’s also known for its emotionally fraught story, which has been adapted into an HBO series of the same name.
