While Zapdos isn’t the most powerful of cards among the Legendary birds inPokémon TCG Pocket, you still craft a decent deck to help you beat your opponents with heavy damage-dealing Electric attacks. Zapdos is a straightforward EX card to get attacking early since it only needs one Energy to use Peck for 20 damage. However, its main damage-dealing move, Thundering Hurricane, has its total damage depending on four coin flips. Ranging in multiples of 50 from zero to 200, this can be either a juggernaut in battle or a total disappointment.
Although not among thebest beginner decks inPokémon TCPG, one focused around Zapdos can make way for dangerous damage dealers, which are easy to set up if you include various supporter and item cards to support them. Using the ideal deck for Zapdos perfectly may require a bit of luck, depending on Energy cards and coin flips. Still, the particular set of cards required makes for a particularly fun assortment since you can quickly deplete the HP of your opponent’s Pokémon if done correctly. It’s not the best Electric-type deck, but it’s worth a try.

Is Zapdos Good In Pokemon TCG Pocket?
Not Great For PvP, But Can Be Fun
The Zapdos deck is only suitable for shortbattles inPokémon TCG Pocketdue to its ability to quickly set up its strongest cards, like Zapdos ex and Pikachu ex for large amounts of damage, but aren’t great for drawn-out matches due to their low health. Their damage-dealing abilities are quite dependent on luck as well. Zapdos ex’s coin flip-dependent Thundering Hurricane can make it unreliable to deal consistent damage. Pikachu ex’s damage can be controlled more, but not as much, since you need benched Lightning Pokémon.
Pokémon TCG Pocket Adds First New Cards in New Lapras and Meowth Events
Pokemon TCG Pocket has launched its first events, with the chance to earn promo cards like the new Lapras ex or promo versions of Chansey and Meowth.
On the other hand, when combined with Giovanni to boost their damage, Potions to heal, and Sabrina to switch out an opponent’s Pokémon, this deck can be quite a thrill to use when it works. As a backup, Eelektross can still deal consistent damage by possibly making an opponent Paralyzed as a bonus. It is not the best deck, but if you need a Lightning-type deck for a certain event orPokémon TCG Pocket’ssolo battlesagainst the game’s AI, Zapdos ex can still be a reliable go-to in the right circumstances.
