A recent datamine may have revealed the upcoming list of events forPokémon Trading Card Game Pocket.Pokémon TCG Pocketrecently releasedMythicalIsland, its first-ever expansion. The new set adds over 80 new cards to the game, including a potent new Celebi ex and Serperior combo. It’s expected that Mythical Island is a “mini-set” that will be followed up by a larger set early next year. However, while some of this information was available via datamines,Pokémon TCG Pockethas mostly kept mum about future releases and events.
Shortly afterPokémon TCG Pocketreleased Mythical Island, dataminers obtained a new list of likely events from the game. This list, which can be seen inthe Reddit postbelow, should not be taken as definite, largely becausePokémon TCG Pockethasn’t actually made a comment about its future event schedule.

However, assuming the list is accurate, players can look forward to free Mythical Island packs, new Wonder Pick events, and a new slate of solo and multiplayer battle events. This isn’t the first time datamines have offered a first look at plans for the game, and it’s likely that it will have at least some bearing on reality.
What Events Are Coming In Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket?
Wonder Pick Events, Mass Outbreak Events, And Giveaways Are Allegedly Coming To Game
Assuming that the list is accurate, players can expect the following schedule of events over the next month, several of which should be familiar:
In addition to the events listed above,Pokémon TCG Pocketis also allegedlygiving away a series of log-in bonuses that include 36 Pack Hourglasses and 4 Mythical Island packs between Christmas and New Year’s Day. Another giveaway for 24 Pack Hourglasses, 4 additional Mythical Island Packs, and a Pikachu promo card will run from January 1st through January 8th.

The Emblem Event will challenge players to collect a certain number of wins, while the SP Emblem Event focuses on building up a 5 match win streak. The Mass Outbreak and Chansey Pick events will both involve use of the Wonder Pick function. Interestingly, the log-in bonus events will be the first time thatPokémon TCG Pocketgives away free full packs of cards, hinting at future plans.
Our Take: A Full January For Pokémon TCG Pocket
Pokemon TCG Pocket Is Starting To Hit Its Stride
The list feels accurate because it includes several familiar events, plus some well-timed log-in bonus events that line up with the holiday. I like that we’re getting more events and overlapping events in January, asit will help players keep logging in for reasons that don’t involve opening up card packs.
I’ll admit that I’m not a fan of the SP Emblem event returning, as I feel like the win streak requirement is very arbitraryand was gamedby a lot of players during the last event. I’m also curious how trading will eventually impactPokémon TCG Pocketevents when that feature launches early next year.
