Pokémon Horizonsrevealed its new series last week, which is kicking off with a timeskip following the epic finale of the Laqua arc. Now, there’s a trailer that teases the new adventure, which will heavily feature Mega Evolution. The trailer confirmed some things that still weren’t clear, while leaving some mysteries, such as what has happened to Friede. Most importantly, it confirmed the duration of the timeskip to be precisely one year, aging its protagonists for the first time in the history of the anime.

The new trailer, uploaded bythe official Pokémon anime X (formerly Twitter) account, revealed the new character Ult, who will seemingly be traveling with Liko, Roy, and Dot. It seems that the group will still have access to the Rising Volt Tacklers' airship, which should simplify their ability to travel around the Pokémon world. There was no hint as to what location the group is currently headed towards, but Roy was shown with his Mega Bracelet and using the Shiny Lucario previously seen in the original reveal.
One of the most interesting shots in the trailer shows the Six Heroes,the Pokémon that belonged to Ancient Adventurer Luciuswhich Liko and Roy collected during the first story arc,have been trapped by Spinel of the Explorers, indicating that story elements from the previous arc won’t be going away entirely. What role the Explorers may have to play in the new storyline is still a mystery, but it seems they won’t be going anywhere any time soon.

Without getting into spoilers for the most recent episode, the situation that the Rising Volt Tacklers are facing is quite grim.It makes sense that the group might lie low for a while, thus explaining the timeskip. It’s not clear yet what will prompt Liko and Roy to reunite and return to the group, but it must be important. It seems that Captain Pikachu will indeed be with Roy, and thus will continue to feature prominently in the series, even with Friede’s apparent disappearance.
With the new series set to debut on June 06, 2025, fans won’t have to wait too long to dive into the next arc ofPokémon Horizons. Until then, many mysteries remain, and speculation will surely abound in fan circles as to exactly what’s coming up.
