October 2024 is shaping up to be an exciting month forPokémon GOplayers, with plenty of spooky celebrations to enjoy and a fresh lineup of Spotlight Hour stars to hunt down and catch every Tuesday evening. Fitting with the Halloween theme of the month, you’ll be able to catch a range of creepy-yet-cute Pokémon including Gastly, Duskull, and Litwick.

The weekly Spotlight Hours are some of the most popular mini-events in thePokémon GOcalendar.Every Tuesday between the hours of 6 PM and 7 PM local time, a specific Pokémon will spawn more frequently in the wild. Each Spotlight Hour event also features a bonus, such as double Candy or Stardust when catching or transferring Pokémon, so it’s a good opportunity to stock up on important resources, too.

A Total Of Seven Headliners To Hunt Down And Catch

There arefive Spotlight Hour eventsto look forward to in October, although one of them featuresthree headlinersinstead of the usual solo headliner. you’re able to see all of the Spotlight Hours for the month, as well as their accompanying bonuses and Shiny availability, in the table below:

All of the Spotlight Hour headliners that have been confirmed so far have the potential to be Shiny. The odds of finding a rare Shiny variant aren’t boosted during Spotlight Hour events, sadly, but many Trainers take advantage of the increased wild spawns to try and hunt one down anyway.

Theaverage Shiny ratefor wild spawns inPokémon GOis believed to bearound 1-in-500, although this does vary for some Pokémon who have consistently boosted odds. This means finding them is going to be very difficult.

There are a couple of interesting things happening with October’s Spotlight Hours. The first is thatOctober 22’s event will feature three headliners, all of which are Ghost-type Pokémon. The second is that October 29’s event features an unknown headliner, which typically meansa new Pokémon will be making itsPokémon GOdebutaround the same time.

With the currentMax Out seasonfocusing on the Galar region and October focusing on Halloween celebrations, the Spotlight Hour headliner will likely fall into one (or both) of those two categories. I predict we’ll finally be seeing the adorableMorpekomake itsPokémon GOdebut, especially as it waspreviously teasedto be arriving soon. A Spotlight Hour would be a great way to introduce it to the game.

Which Spotlight Hours Are Best This Month?

The One With The Three Headliners

The best Spotlight Hour event this month will be the one taking place onOctober 22, with Gastly, Duskull, and Litwick headlining. It’s very unusual to get multiple headliners for a Spotlight Hour event, especially not ones that have so much usability in the game. Gastly’s final evolution Gengar and Litwick’s final evolution Chandelure are both excellent Ghost-type attackers forRaid Battles, so find ones with good IVs and stock up on their Candy while you may.

The other headliners aren’t anything to write home about, although the bonuses are worth looking at if you’re in need of a specific resource like Stardust or XP. The final Spotlight Hour event on October 29 could end up being very interesting if we do get to see Morpeko make itsPokémon GOdebut. It will introduce mid-battle form-changes to the game, which could be the start of a big shakeup to the GO Battle League.
