Warning! This article contains spoilers for Squid Game season 2.

Squid Gameseason 2 ended with a mid-credits scene that leaves things looking more bleak than ever for the remaining players.Squid Gamehas constantly put the players in incredibly tense and compromising positions. And thanks to the desperation of these characters, they find themselves struggling to climb out of their difficult circumstances, and continuously returning to participate in each new round.

However, while the games consist of deadly versions of playground games that the contestants grew up playing, things are likely to get so much worse as the game continues. Aswith theSquid Gameseason 1, later rounds begin to rely more on luck over skill when the contestants begin to get down to fewer and fewer numbers. And, while the players are always given the opportunity to vote on whether they will continue playing or not, thefinal rounds will likely eliminate most of the peoplewho vote to keep playing anyway.

Seon-nyeo’s Prediction Makes Me Less Hopeful About Squid Game Season 2’s Final Game

Seon-nyeo Cursed The X’s To A Violent Death

In the penultimate episode ofSquid Gameseason 2, Seon-nyeo, the old shaman woman, tells the X’s that she has put a curse on them, to see all of them die, one by one, in painful and brutal ways. She tells the X’s this with smug satisfaction, suggesting that their fate in the games will be a brutal and awful one. While Seon-nyeo is not necessarily the most reliable source of truth, it does appear that this could be some type offoreshadowing of what to expect in the next rounds inSquid Gameseason 3.

Squid Game Season 2’s Cliffhanger Ending Addressed By Gi-hun Actor: “How Could You End The Season At That Point?”

Squid Game’s Seong Gi-hun star Lee Jung-jae addresses the season 2 cliffhanger ending, which has prompted mixed responses from audiences.

With the games getting more challenging, and the number of survivors on the O’s side vastly outnumbering the X’s, things don’t look good for the players that want to go home. Instead, the next games could get much more brutal, ruthless, and violent, as the remaining players attempt to stack up their prize money and come out on top. Thisultimately means that no one is safe, but least of all the players who tried to stop the games.

There May Not Be As Many Survivors In Squid Game Season 2 As The Finale Suggests

The Games Are Getting More Dangerous Over Time

Yes,Squid Gameseason 2’s finaledoes see several more players killed either by each other, or by the Pink Guards when they overpower and stop the rebellion, but this is likely nothing compared to the next game. It looks as though many people on the O’s side are still alive, but I believe thenext round will likely see many more of these characters meet their end. Whether by the hands of their allies, or by the cruel fate of the games.

Either way, there is an increasing number of players who have survived to this point that are growing less and less sensitive to blood and violence. While many players were fearful in the first round when the guns started picking those who failed to stay still off, now there are players who arewilling to kill with their own hands. They lash out violently, and nothing is stopping them from turning on each other and trying to claim even more of the prize for themselves.

The Mid-Credits Reveal Increases The Difficulty For The Next Round

And speaking of the first game, theSquid Gamemid-credits sceneseems to strongly suggest that the next game will be another round of Red Light, Green Light, but this time,it isn’t just one doll. In order to succeed in the first round, the players hid behind each other to conceal their movements, which ultimately saved the lives of some less nimble players. But with the massive brawl, significant injuries, and overall brutal violence, the players are now in a far worse condition than when they arrived.

The Real Reason Player 001 Messed Up The Spinning Top In Squid Game Season 2

The Front Man’s true plan in Squid Game season 2 is mysterious, with many wondering why he intentionally failed the Spinning Top - but here’s why.

Add to that the fact that there is now at least one more robot watching their movements, and it seems highly likely that the kill count in the next game will soar. And with many more O’s to target, the players who fought hard to keep the games going will likely suffer the highest death toll. It could play out differently, and the mid-credits scene could be some kind of red herring, but in all likelihood, it appears as though Squid Game season 3 will get even more bloody, more violent, and more dark than the first two. And Seon-nyeo’s curse could hold some weight for the remaining survivors inSquid Game’sfinal season.
