Bug EgoShows Plenty of Promise With Only Two Chapters

Despite having only two chapters so far,Bug Egohas already captured the attention of many fans of ONE’s works, and it seems as though Shueisha has also seen the early signs of the potential in the series. Despite its seemingly straightforward premise,Bug Egois anything but predictable with elements of horror, comedy, and even sheer absurdity hiding within its unassuming high school setting.

The stunning art from Shitara Kiyoto also creates an almost surreal reading experience by using a mixture of various art styles as and when needed, depending on the tone of each scene. Fortunately,Bug Ego’s monthly release schedule means that the series will be able to retain its level of quality without clashing with any of ONE’s other already serialized manga series.

Bug Ego Is Proof of ONE’s Versatility as a Manga Author

Given ONE’s track record so far, it should come as no surpriseBug Egois also exceptionally written and has managed to blow fans away with only two chapters. Though fans of ONE’s other series likeOne Punch Manmight notice similarities in terms ofBug Ego’s humor, the series is still distinct from the rest of ONE’s works with a story that feels incredibly original.

Though quite a few series have played with the concept of bugs and glitches, they have mostly done so in the context of an isekai or a game setting. Meanwhile,Bug Egosimply inserts the supernatural into the real world in small doses be it a vending machine or bird poop. The constantly shifting tone of the story is also executed perfectly each time as a testament to ONE’s writing genius. Overall, fans ofOne Punch ManandMob Psychomost certainly should giveBug Egoa shot when it releases on Jump Ultra.
