One Pieceepisode #1120will have a hard time following one of the most dramatic turns for the story to date. One notable hiccup aside, episode #1119 did a great job of bringing another impactful chapter of the manga to life, and it more than lays the groundwork for an even better follow-up.
One Pieceepisode #1119 continued fromOne Pieceepisode #1118’s surprise ending ofImu revealing themselves to Cobraduring his meeting with the Five Elders, with them even answering some questions Cobra and the audience were likely waiting to hear for a long time. Things hardly went smoothly for Cobra, of course, and as already established in earlier episodes,Cobra’s meeting with Imu and the Five Elders ended with Cobra’s death. The Levely flashback continues to be one ofOne Piece’s most dramatic stories yet, and fortunately, there’s still plenty left in store for it.

What Happened In One Piece Episode #1119?
Produced By Toei Animation; Directed By Yasuhiro Tanabe
InOne Pieceepisode #1119, “The Entrusted Message! King Cobra’s Resolve,” while Imu didn’t fully explain the meaning behind the Will of D., they did explain that its existence in modern-day, along with the Poneglyphs, was the result of Nefertari Lily’s defiance 800 years ago, something Imu believes to have been intentional.
Imu then pressured Cobra into saying Lily’s full name as dictated in the letter, and with it being clear that he wouldn’t be leaving alive,Cobra revealed that Lily’s full name was Nefertari D. Lily, making him and Vivi inheritors of the Will of D., as well. Imu immediately attacked Cobra, but Sabo, who had been eavesdropping on them, attacked Imu and the Five Elders and moved to get Cobra to safety.

Unfortunately,Imu and the Five Elderswere quick to subdue them in their mysterious, monstrous forms, andCobra sacrificed himself so Sabo could escapeand tell Luffy and Vivi that they both shared the initial D. Some time later, it was revealed Wapol was also spying on everything, and while he didn’t understand what was happening, he knew that he was going to be killed for it and started running around in a frenzy.
Following the end of the Levely, Vivi was captured by CP0, but they told her to expect to live the rest of her life as a pet. At the same time, however, Wapol was still running around in a frenzy and destroying everything with his Munch-Munch Fruit, and in his confusion,Wapol accidentally swallowed Vivi and took her away from CP0. With the two of them on the run, they decided they might as well run away together, and while episode #1119 didn’t reveal their plan, it’s already known that they’ll end up under Morgans’ protection.

One Piece’s Big Reveal Completely Changes One Of Its Major Characters
WithOne Pieceepisode #1119’s big reveal surrounding the Will of D., it completely changes how people should view Vivi’s character. Vivi has always been a character defined by her willpower and her unrelenting resolve to do what’s right, and with everything that happened in episode #1119, it can now be assumed thatVivi being such a strong-willed person stems from her secretly being a D.Naturally, this shouldn’t be seen as the entire reason why she’s the way she is, but it’s still something that will undoubtedly be important in the future.
One Piece Concludes The Levely On A Mostly High Note
One Piece’s Levely flashback has all but concluded, and it concluded on a major high note. Between the dramatic reveals surrounding the Nefertari family, the hilarious nature of Vivi’s escape, and the surreal presentation of Imu and the Five Elders’ assault,One Pieceepisode #1119 did a great job of closing out the Levely flashback with its great animation and overall writing. The entire flashback has been a highlight of the interlude from Egghead Island, and episode #1119 was a great way to bring it to a close.
If there was one shortcoming with episode #1119, though, it was with the scene of Sabo running away from Imu and the Five Elders. Even in the manga, the sequence was unintentionally comical because of how goofy the silhouettes of everyone in their transformed states were, and sure enough,One Pieceepisode #1119 couldn’t depict Imu and the Five Elders chasing after Sabo without making it look incredibly goofy. That didn’t fully detract from it being a good episode, of course, and it’s sure to lead to even greater things from theOne Pieceanime, going forward.

Be sure to watchOne Pieceepisode #1120when it releases on Saturday, September 21.
