Stardew Valleyis a game full of whimsy and weirdness. With fantasy elements that range from adorable forest spirits helping rejuvenate an economically depressed town to a little mouse that sells hats for no other reason than liking hats, the farming simulator is chock-full of interesting and weird secrets. No hidden secret leads to as strange a prize as the final Lost Book quest, which allows players to collect the three weirdest pieces of furniturein the entirety ofStardew Valley.

While some quests inStardew Valleydo bring players to strange places, like thedangerous Skull Cavern, most only require the player to interact with normal people and normal items. One quest,a series of tasks with no official quest title, has players running all over the valleyand Pelican Town to unlock three statues with some of the strangest designs in the entire game. It all begins by collecting every Lost Book inStardew Valleyuntil one unnamed title remains.

Lost Books Hide The Strangest Quest In Stardew Valley

This Volume Can Only Be Found After All The Others

Players ofStardew Valleywill be familiar with Lost Books, the hidden books that keep be found all over the valley, but most often by using the hoe on artifact spots, which look like wiggly worms on the ground. Unlike other unlockables inStardew Valley, theLost Books can only ever be found in one order. They provide information related to gameplay, like a guide on brewing beer, pale ale, and wine.

Stardew Valley: The 10 Most Profitable Wines You Should Be Making

Wine is one of the best ways to make gold in Stardew Valley, making for some huge profits each season. These are the ten most profitable wines.

Most of the information found in Lost Books is either pretty straightforward, like Marnie’s advice on feeding animals, or largely useless if players are using the wiki for most information. Because of that, most players likely ignore the Lost Books in the Museum after checking out the first few novels. However, anyone who wants to collect the strangest statues in the entire game shouldn’t ignore the final book,an untitled tome that can only be found after all other Lost Books have been collected.

The absolute final book in the Lost Book collection is an unnamed title with extremely strange text. The nonsensical words read, “Solok Ulan Paa Eno Ra Coto Ulan Coto Ulan Mabo Bel Eno Ra Teba Omi Walo Nemo. Dop Ulan Coto Kui Mabo Awa Yoba Omi Solok Awa Lon Omi Omi Nemo. Solok Teba Ra Awa Nemo Gawa Eno Bel Ulan Nemo Teba Omi Yoba Bel Omi Xi.”While these sentences look like complete gibberish at first, there’s actually a quest hidden in the wordsthat players need to decipher.

Decoding This Unnamed Lost Books Reveals A Quest

A Treasure Hunt Across Pelican Town

To understand the quest of the final Lost Book, players have to first figure out what the words mean. Thankfully, decoding this text only requires taking the first letter of each word. Doing sospells out three different items and an accompanying location in Pelican Town. These sentences are “Super Cucumber Town”, “Duck Mayo Saloon”, and “Strange Bun Toybox.” While these words might seem almost equally incomprehensible as the earlier text, they’re actually directions to a special quest.

The Cutest Piece Of Stardew Valley Secret Furniture Can Only Be Found On This Date

One of the biggest, and cutest, plush items in Stardew Valley can be found hidden right in town, according to one of the secret note quests.

To complete the unmarked quest and receive its strange prizes, players need to bring each item—a super cucumber, duck mayo, and a strange bun—to its respective location. Each location has a box, which might not seem obvious at first. Players then need to deposit their item into each box. The super cucumber may be the most difficult box to locate for this quest, as there are a lot of random boxes decorating Pelican Town.

The correct box is hidden behind Clint’s blacksmith shop in a fenced grove of trees, which can be accessed through a hole along the fence line hidden by a tree. The box is slightly tucked behind one of the trees, so it may be easy to miss at first. The other two locations are much easier to find. The duck mayo goes into the silver box on the right side of the Stardrop Saloon’s backroom, while the strange bun goes into Vincent’s toy box on 1 Willow Lane.

The Three Strangest Decorations In The Game Are Hidden In Town

Wacky Items For A Quirky Game

Placing each of the items into its corresponding box around Pelican Townprovides a prize for each. These new items are certainlyunique pieces of furniturefor players to decorate with. The super cucumber box yields a statue called “??HMTGF??”, which looks like a humanoid made up of pieces of junk with a trash can as a body. The duck mayo box gives players “??Pinky Lemon??”, a delightfully shy-looking figure who could come straight out of a Dr. Seuss story.

The three strange statues were added in Update 1.0.

Pinky Lemon has rosy pink cheeks and a heart attached to his head, though he seems to be wearing no clothing besides a pair of red and white striped socks and brown shoes. The third and final statue comes from the strange bun boxin Vincent’s room, named “??Foroguemon??”. This creature, who stands on two legs with entirely green skin and orange spikes, looks like he might be a friend of Krobus, so perhaps players have taken a monster haunting Vincent out of his toy box.

All together, the three statues make a strange grouping, but that’s where their uniqueness ends. The statues don’t do anything or provide any benefits, or curses, to the farm, so players can decorate with both thecutestStardew Valleyitemsand the weirdest without fearing what the bipedal frog man may do to their house. These three weird pieces of furniture, and the cryptic quest that precedes them, highlight some of the best aspects ofStardew Valley.

Will Stardew Valley Get Another Big Update After 1.6?

As Stardew Valley continues to receive support, over eight years since it was first released, can players expect another major update like 1.6?

Beneath the surface of a cute farming simulator isa game with downright bizarre lore and fantasy world-building. Some parts of the fantasy are adorable, like Hat Mouse and the Junimos, while others are more depressing, like the description of goblins with human-like intelligence living in distant forests because of mistreatment by humans. Having more quests that bring those weirder parts of the game to the surface, like the final Lost Book, brings more whimsy toStardew Valley.
