Warning! This post contains SPOILERS for Star Wars: Inquisitors #2

Summary

After being completely wasted inObi-Wan Kenobi, theFifth Brotherfinally gets his time to shine in theStar Warsgalaxy. First debuting in the animated seriesStar Wars Rebels, the Fifth Brother is among the many dark side agents who made up the Imperial Inquisitorius, merciless Jedi hunters operating under the orders of Darth Vader himself during the Dark Times. However, his live-action debut inObi-Wan Kenobileft much to be desired.

As seen in Marvel’s new and canonicalStar Wars: Inquisitors #2by Rodney Barnes and Ramon Rosanas, Order 66 survivorTensu Run has decided to stop running and take on the Imperial Inquisitors directly. This is a direct response to the Grand Inquisitor’s murder of Run’s master in the first issue of this new series, andthe Jedi Knight’s first target is none other than the Fifth Brother, providing a much-needed spotlight on this Inquisitor who’s been around since 2015:

Getting the chance to wield the classic double-bladed rotating lightsaber commonly used by the Inquisitors,Fifth Brother is featured dispatching a whole squad of triggered security droids before dueling Tensu Run himselfat the issue’s end (which is more than can be said for his role inObi-Wan Kenobi).

Fifth Brother Finally Gets To Some Star Wars Action

Including using his lightsaber as a fearsome warrior

Unlike his role inObi-Wan Kenobi,Fifth Brother actually gets to have a leading role inStar Wars:Inquisitors #2as readers learn more about his singular motivations and ambitions as a member of the Inquisitorius.Having fully embraced the dark dogmas of the Imperial Inquisitors,Fifth Brother fully believes that he exists only to fulfill “the promise of Order 66”. All he wants is to bring about the complete end of the Jedi Order to which he once belonged (like many of his fellow Inquisitors).

Furthermore, Fifth Brother also gets to wield his crimson lightsaber in this issue, showing off his impressive skills as he welcomes the practice provided by the security droids he activated. Although he was ultimately defeated by Tensu Run and lost his arm, Fifth Brother’s duel with the Jedi survivor was no less exciting. After all, such action sequences haven’t been seen from this particular Inquisitor for quite some time, long before his mediocre live-action appearance inObi-Wan Kenobi.

Live-Action Fifth Brother Was Wasted In Obi-Wan Kenobi

Played By Sung Kang

Despite being played byThe Fast and Furious’Sung Kang, the live-action Fifth Brother is rather disappointing. Most of his appearances inObi-Wan Kenobishow him becoming increasingly angered by theThird Sister’s growing ambitions, and yet not doing anything about it. He didn’t receive any real action sequences either. Instead, the Fifth Brother was reduced to making threats and leading stormtroopers. As such, the opportunity to see him fight and show his true skills as a Jedi hunter is quite refreshing, even if he did lose a limb and now has to face Vader’s wrath for his failure.
