A new report sheds light on the top streaming shows, which is led by a somewhat surprisingNetflixdrama. Despite the lack of platform-defining marquee shows like Netflix’sWednesdayandPrime Video’sReacher, streaming television ended the year on a relatively high note thanks to the strength of new originals that debuted strong and several returning favorites.
This was evident withNobody Wants This, the Kristen Bell and Adam Brody romantic comedy that climbed the charts late in 2024 and has been in the awards conversation. On the opposite end of the genre spectrum, Prime Video’sAlex Crossadaptation premiered to a big audience in November and seemed to fill the void created by the absence ofReacher. This is in addition to well-established successes likeOuter Banksseason 4 and a pair of Taylor Sheridan dramas. But none of them took the top spot.

Season 4 Should Be A Certainty
The Lincoln Lawyerseason 4may not be officially confirmed. But given these numbers, it may just be a matter of time before Netflix makes the announcement. It’s an impressive accomplishment for a show that is popular and established, though not thought of in the same category as the streamer’s heavy-hitters. One thing to note, as well, is that the list does not includeSquid Gamewhich arrived on December 26. But if that had been included, it would have made an appearance on the list since it’s on track to be one of Netflix’s biggest seasons of TV.
