Warning: Spoilers for My Hero Academia Volume 42 Epilogue

My Hero Academia’s new epilogue has revealed post-timeskip designs for almost every major character, finally ushering the cast of the series into adulthood. While the original ending provided a two-page spread of Class 1-A in their adult hero outfits, the new epilogue features a number of other characters, including students from Class 1-B, other schools, and even Pro Heroes.

The new chapter is set 8 years later, and reveals what’s going on in the lives of many of the series' characters. The chapter primarily follows Ochaco as she leads a Quirk counseling session, before moving on to a party with her former classmates, celebrating Todoroki’s ascension to rank #2 on the Hero rankings. The party gives a chance for fans to catch up with Class 1-A,including Aoyama, who is now working as a sidekick at Invisible Girl’s hero agency. The group’s adult designs look fantastic, both in their hero outfits and in more casual wear.

Class 1-B’s Monoma, Kendo, and Honenuki as adults.

My Hero Academia’s Students Are All Grown Up

The Students Look Appropriately Older and More Mature

The first characters to debut new looks are the (former) Big Three of UA, Mirio, Nejire, and Tamaki.Mirio is now sporting a pompadour, but is otherwise very much like he once was. Nejire’s hair has grown back out and is quite long again, while Tamaki is hiding his face behind his costume as much as possible. Ochaco and Tsuyu prove that they’re loving their new jobs as Quirk counseling heroes, even if Ochaco is overworking herself a bit.

Among Class 1-A’s new designs, Shoji stands out, as he no longer wears a mask to cover his face around his friends, showing how much more comfortable he has become with himself. Sero has a mustache which makes him resemble Aizawa, while Mina looks stunning with long hair. Shoto has noticeably filled out, with a much broader chest, giving him a more masculine appearance. Other characters, like Mineta, Tokoyami, and (unsurprisingly) Toru Hagakure look much as they always have. Mineta doesn’t even seem to be any taller than he was in school!

More Than Just Class 1-A Got Glow Ups

Pro Heroes and Other Students Also Got Aged Up Designs

Aside from Class 1-A and the Big Three, a number of other characters also had new designs. Among the pro heroes, Mirko, Best Jeanist, Gang Orca, Kamui Woods, and Mount Lady all debuted new looks;Mirko’s accentuates her tenacity, still out there fighting as a herodespite all the injuries she’s sustained. Best Jeanist’s outfit now features laces instead of zippers, and Mount Lady is wearing a new mask which seems to deliberately resemble that of her fallen rival, Midnight.

Class 1-B characters also got in on the action, as well as students from the other schools, such as Inasa and Camie. Monoma, now ranked #10 on the hero rankings, has the biggest change to his design, with pocketwatch earrings. Most of these characters are only shown in their hero outfits, and have smaller adjustments to their designs than 1-A does. Still, it’s quite interesting to see all the characters grown up and working as Pro Heroes, as well as how they’ve done for themselves. TheMy Hero Academiaepilogue chapter has delivered on something fans were really hoping to see, and went beyond expectations to check in with even minor characters.
