Following in the footsteps of the already launchedUltimate Spider-Man,Ultimate X-Men,Ultimate Black Panther, andThe Ultimatesbooks,Ultimate Wolverineis two issues in but is shaping up to be something well-worth reading for fans of the original characters mashed together here.Replacing Bucky Barnes as the Russian operative known as the Winter Soldier,this version of Wolverinewas created by Directorate X— a similar initiative to Earth-616’s Weapon X program — where Logan serves Colossus, Magik, and Omega Red, or the “Tsars of Russia and Limbo,” as a lethal assassin with nary a will to call his own.

Still developing as a character on the page, the fact that @batsturd has already given Ultimate Wolverine a live-action look is a testament to how impressively talented this creator can be, withthis comic-accurate design losing virtually nothing in the transition from the panel to the real world.
