NetEase has finally implemented an in-match reporting feature for those who abandon their teammates inMarvelRivals, but fans think the devs may have missed the mark a bit. Players who quit and leave the match either out of anger or fear of losing rank, also called Leavers in-game, have been an issue since the beginning ofMarvel Rivals. While the issue of reporting said leaver mid-match has been resolved, there are still two major problems fans can see.

One issue is the match not ending if someone leaves, leaving competitive players at a disadvantage of 5v6 rather than 6v6. Matches will end if a player leaves within the first few minutes, but if they leave halfway through, the match continues. The other issue here, as noted by Reddit commenters onqueley’sReddit post, isthat constant crashes have plagued players for months now.

Players Can Now Report Leavers In-Game In Marvel Rivals

But Is That The Real Issue Here?

The original Reddit post from queley did not discuss crashes but rather warned leavers that they will be reported now with the new feature. Rather than agree with the OP,Reddit users seemed to only discuss the crashing issues that constantly lock players out of matches and get them hit with penalties.Usermisanthropicirishmanstarted this discussion, writing,“Cool, now fix the crashes that make people “leave” XD.“Almost all the comments that follow agree with this.

All Active Marvel Rivals Codes (June 2025)

Marvel Rivals fans looking to get their hands on free in-game items will want to stay up to date with all of the game’s active unlock codes.

UserKamKeykestates,“My loading screen takes like… 5 minutes or more? If my game crashes, I CAN’T get back in time.“This is what most players have an issue with, as when the game crashes, it causes them to abandon their team mid-match.They are unable to get back in time to help save their teammates and are given a penalty for something out of their control. While reporting a leaver is great, crashes should be prioritized first, according to theRivalscommunity.

Our Take: Mid-Match Crashes Are Happening Way Too Often In Marvel Rivals

That Doesn’t Mean Players Aren’t Leaving Willingly, Though

Though crashes do happen quite often, which I have learned on my own throughout my time inRivals, there are still players who leave just because their team is losing. The issue I have with this is thatwhile the player might receive a 15-minute or more penalty, those stuck inthe unfair matchstill lose rank if they lose 5v6.That is something I believe should be fixed, rather than just being able to report the leaver.

Crashes are constant inMarvel Rivalsand causemuch more chaosthan they should. There should be more of a grace period for players to come back if the game does happen to crash, but there also needs to be a feature, like they have inOverwatch 2,that automatically ends the match after a certain period. It might be hard for NetEase to find a balance, which is why nothing has been done about it thus far.

Hopefully, this new feature means that thedevs are taking noteof players leaving matches inMarvel Rivalsand will come up with a better solution for those losing rank because of it.
