Darkseid and The Ant-Life Equation, Explained
The Anti-Life Equation Stomps Out All Free Will, Leaving Its Victim a Souless Husk
In the early 1970s, Jack Kirby, fed up with Stan Lee and Marvel, headed to their crosstown rival, DC Comics, where he created the epic Fourth World Saga, among others. Kirby’s Fourth World was spread across four different books, and while each could be read on its own, when taken together they told a grand and cosmic story about the struggle between good and evil, embodied in the planets of New Genesis and Apokolips. Jack Kirby drew on a variety of inspirations for Darkseid, and all of these influences came together to create one of the most memorable villains in DC history. On his own, Darkseid was intimidating, but his vast powers made him even more scary. It was his quest for the Anti-Life Equation, however, that came to define him. In essence, it turns them into zombies.

He first uses it to kill the monks sent after him before turning them into his zombie army, and it can be assumed he has similar designs for Deadpool and his associates. The Muramasa Sword has already nerfed Deadpool’s healing factor, and one more run-in might kill him and bring him under Death Grip’s thumb.
