Roz Doyle (Peri Gilpin) hosting a radio talk show in Frasier (2023) Season 2 Ep 8

Everybody else [was awed by stepping back onto the radio set] I was just like, ‘Yeah, it’s a set. What’s the problem?’ So many people coming up going, ‘Oh my God, to see this place again…’ I’m like, ‘It’s not the same place! It’s a set!'

When I did sit down in the chair and say, you know, ‘Hello, Seattle. This is Dr. Frasier Crane. I’m listening’… that got me.

Why Frasier Season 2’s Seattle Episode Is So Emotional

It’s Pure Nostalgia

Frasier and Roz’s trip back to their iconic booth, where both Bulldog and Gil are still working, is certainly nostalgic. What’s supposed to be a fun and quick visit, unsurprisingly, doesn’t go to plan, as Frasier is forced to revisit his legacy in Seattle. Ultimately,Frasier advises Roz to move on from the jobsince she has long outgrown it, but as a final send-off, they stage a last show, where the good doctor takes a call with his former producer running the show. The session ends with Grammer delivering his iconic line,“I’m listening.”

Who The Guest Caller Is In Frasier Season 2, Episode 8

Frasier Crane returns to Seattle for a final KACL show in Frasier season 2, episode 8, and for it, the Paramount+ series recruits a special guest.

Ideally, theFrasierrevival season 2, episode 8 would have run a longer session of the last “The Dr. Frasier Crane Show.” That said, just the line, which Frasier said in almost every single episode of the old show, is more than enough to evoke strong nostalgia, especially considering how long it has been since the Seattle series wrapped up. The call-in segment was a signature part of the originalCheersspinoff. Now thatRoz is supposedly also leaving KACL, this will likely be the true final time that Grammer can revisit his character’s time in the Emerald City.

Our Takeaway From Frasier’s Return To Seattle Episode In The Revival

The Frasier Revival Is So Different From Its Predecessor

As someone who loved the originalFrasier, seeing the main KACL group back is such a treat. The chemistry among the cast remains the same, not to mention their comedic timing. TheFrasierrevival recruiting Carol Burnett to be the final guest caller is also a touch of brilliance. That said, the only drawback is that it highlights just how different the revival is from the original series. Now that Roz no longer has any reason to be Seattle, perhaps she can be a series regular in the reboot to make the new show more like its predecessor.
