Jujutsu Kaisenhas been racing to the finish line with its final chapters showing an impressive finale to the Shinjuku Showdown to set up for what is sure to be a heartfelt epilogue. The series has propped up dangerous and eclectic villains with varying levels of contempt and ambitions for the world, but only one can be seen as the ultimate jujutsu terrorist. Kenjaku, a curse user inhabiting Suguru Geto’s body, orchestrated the series' most devastating events, including the Shibuya Incident and the now-concluded Culling Game. Still,inJujutsu Kaisenchapter #270, Kenjaku’s hinted to be alive.

Kenjaku’s presence throughoutJujutsu Kaisenhas been an appropriately balanced and calculating one, but in the Shinjuku Showdown Arc,his playful demeanor met a surprising match in his final chapters.Among the last characters to meet him was Fumihiko Takaba, whose cursed technique generates seemingly limitless phenomena based on his comedic musings, which would do shockingly well against Kenjaku. In the penultimate installment ofJujutsu Kaisen, chapter #270 shows who might be Kenjaku, or his host body, Suguru Geto, prompting questions about how this is possible.

Kenjaku Being Alive Could Be Takaba’s Latest Joke in Jujutsu Kaisen

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter #270 Shows a Surprising Face

As the world winds down fromSukuna’s defeat inJujutsu Kaisenchapter #268, alongside a confirmation of Fumihiko Takaba’s survival and recovery, Kenjaku, or at least Suguru Geto’s body, appears hidden behind one of Takaba’s speech bubble. The pair chat in a restaurant where Takaba lays down ground rules for their comedy routine, suggesting Takaba finally found a partner. Suppose Kenjaku is dead, freeing Suguru Geto’s body from his control. In that case, his reappearance inJujutsu Kaisenchapter #270 is potentially easily explained as Takaba’s cursed technique bringing him back"because it would be funny."

Mind-Blowing Jujutsu Kaisen “Almost Live-Action” Short Film Recreates Gojo’s Best Fight

Gojo’s fight against Toji was one of Jujutsu Kaisen’s best, but a talented fan artist has skillfully remade the battle to look better than ever.

Given Kenjaku’s realization duringhis comedy battle with Takaba in chapter #242, noting that he hasn’t had as much fun in centuries, it’s a potentially happy ending for him as well inJujutsu Kaisen. Fumihiko Takaba’s comedic career consisted of him having difficulties both growing up and making friends and then later, when finding a comedy partner, so seeing the two wearing matching “Laff” t-shirts, arguing over a restaurant bill inJujutsu Kaisenchapter #270 is fascinating. In a way, should the two remain alive at the end of the series, this is the best possible conclusion for them.

Will Suguru Geto Return in Jujutsu Kaisen?

AfterKenjaku’s defeat and subsequent consumption inJujutsu Kaisenchapter #243,this ostensibly frees Geto from his control, although the curse user has long been deceased. It’s unlikely that Geto will return, especially after greeting Gojo in the afterlife after his death at the hands of Sukuna in the Shinjuku Showdown. However, because Kenjaku is the one to make his impression on Takaba using Geto’s visage, it strongly suggests that the obscured character is wholly Kenjaku, revived as the other half of Takaba’s dream comedy duo.

With Suguru Geto likely properly laid to rest, and Kenjaku and Takaba finding joy in a surprising shared passion, this epilogue appearance suggests at least one happy ending inJujutsu Kaisen.

However aware Kenjaku is, if he is indeed used by Takaba’s cursed technique, is not certain as of chapter #270. It’s unlikely to set up any future confrontations or conflicts with the character, especially with Takaba likely remaining in control, even just of them as a team. But with Suguru Geto likely properly laid to rest, and Kenjaku and Takaba finding joy in a surprising shared passion, this epilogue appearance suggests at least one happy ending inJujutsu Kaisen.
