A new Josh Holloway show is copying what made Sawyer the best character inLost. Holloway was one ofLost’s main cast membersthroughout the hit show’s six-season run. His character, James “Sawyer” Ford, was one of the survivors of the Oceanic Flight 815 plane crash. When introduced in season 1, Sawyer was an arrogant con man who often created trouble among the survivors. He did not hesitate to intentionally anger others and push them to their limits.
By theend ofLost, Sawyer had changed drastically from where he started. He became one of the show’s most likable, tragic, and complex characters, and a true leader, including whenLost’s time travelstranded him in the 1970s.Holloway is now reuniting withLostco-creator J.J. Abramsto play a getaway driver in the upcoming Max showDuster, and there are already noticeable parallels between this character and Sawyer.

His Duster Character Is Poised To Have A Similar Arc
TheDustertrailer shows Holloway’s character having a history of working as a getaway driver in the criminal underworld. He has developed a reputation and tries to maintain the facade of belonging among criminals. However, when he teams up with an FBI agent, Nina (Rachel Hilson), to take down a crime syndicate, his true colors begin to show. Despite his best efforts to prove otherwise,he is a good person, and his partnership with Nina will bring out his true nature for everyone to see.
This arc mirrors howSawyer changes inLost. It is Kate Austen (Evangeline Lilly) who saw through his facade and that Sawyer tried too hard to get everyone to hate him. She saw that underneath his seemingly arrogant and selfish ways, he was a good man. From jumping out of the helicopter in season 4 to saving the life of a young Ben Linus (Sterling Beaumon) in season 5, Sawyer failed to be the bad guy he wanted everyone to think he was and proved that he was one of the good guys.

Josh Holloway Reuniting With J.J. Abrams Makes Duster Even More Exciting
It’s Good To See Holloway & Abrams Doing A New Show
Duster’s premise is enough to make the show intriguing, but it is even more exciting because of Holloway reuniting with Abrams. While he was mainly involved with the creation and early episodes ofLost, Abrams was integral to the beloved show getting off the ground.Dusteris the first show he has been involved with in over a decade. There are no shortage of actors who could have been at the forefront of his return to television, which makes the reunion with Holloway all the more meaningful.
Every Lost Character Still On The Island When The Show Ended
Many of Lost’s characters either died on the island or escaped it, but several characters were still there by the end of the show’s present-day story.
SinceLost,Josh Holloway has had roles inCommunityandYellowstone, and was one of the main characters in AMC’s science-fiction dramaColony, which aired for three seasons. From his leading role inColonyto being a recurring character inYellowstoneseason 3,all these performances have been enjoyable. That being said,Dustercan bring Holloway back to what he does best as he essentially plays a new version ofLost’s Sawyer in Abrams' new show.
