While one might think that the immense success and popularity of the hit animeSolo Levelingpractically ensures that the series an easy renewal for more seasons, an important figure in the production is not quite sure himself. However, fans can sit back and relax, knowing that the franchise still has a ways to go. In the fourth episode ofAniplex After Hours, hosted by the musician Sally Amaki, fans got to see an in-depth look into Studio A-1 Pictures, the studio behindSolo Levelingand other hits such asMagiandSword Art Online.
During the video, Amaki meets up with animators Atsushi Yonezawa and Kaito Hashimoto, storyboard artist and episode director Takayuki Kikuchi, and computer graphics director Toshitaka Morioka. One standout moment is whenSolo Levelingproducer Atsushi Kaneko claims that, after the premiere of season 2’s finale,he does not know what the future will be and that he is unsure whether the anime will continue or not.

Solo Leveling’s Chances Of Returning Are Extremely High
Kaneko proceeds to say that, with support and encouragement, there is a very real possibility that the anime will come back. He himself wishes the anime will return for a third season and that fans should look forward to the finale. Considering his statement that theentire staff at A-1 Pictures worked hard onSolo Leveling’sseason 2 finale, it’s understandable why Kaneko would have such high hopes for it. While the specter of production delays or circumstances outside any creatives' control looms over any anime project, A-1’s hard work has made the prospects of season 3 incredibly likely.
Solo Levelinghas been nothing short of a massive hit and is no doubt already one of the most influential anime of this decade.Solo Levelinghas already broken records and climbed the ranks on Crunchyroll, increased the sales of the manhwa significantly, and helped lead the charge for a manhwa anime adaptation boom. While there is precedent of successful anime being put on hiatus for a long time, such asBleach’sinfamous cancellation,Solo Leveling’s meteoric rise to the top of the anime world almost guarantees more projects.
Solo Leveling Season 3 Could Be Announced After The Finale
The Sequel Confirmation Could Very Well Be Made Soon
Much like how season 2 was announced immediately after the last episode of season 1,Solo Levelingseason 3 could be confirmed after this week’s finale, and fans should expect this. Kaneko obviously could not have revealed in the interview that there would be a third season, as such a big announcement is usually made on a bigger platform. Though Kaneko may be coy in the interview, there’s little doubt thatSolo Levelingwill return for a season 3.
