Suitscreator Aaron Korsh discusses the idea of Meghan Markle returning to the legal drama and why her comeback would be difficult to pull off. The showran from 2011 to 2019, following the lives of high-powered lawyers at a top New York firm. Markle played paralegal-turned-lawyerRachel Zane from the series' debut until season 7in 2018. Rachel’s departure was a natural conclusion to her arc, as she left New York with her husband, Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams), to start a new life in Seattle, which mirrored Markle’s real-life exit from acting after her marriage to Prince Harry.
While attending the premiere of the show’s spinoff,Suits LA,Korsh talked toPeopleabout whether Markle or any other original cast member could make a cameo in the new spinoff. Korsh explained thather comeback would be too disruptive to the show’s world, saying,“It blows up the world too much.“Read his comments below:

So, look, to me, we have thought about whether it be Meghan or any of the other cast members coming on and playing themselves as an actor. I think for me that’s a little … My brain blows up at the thought of that.
So I think it blows up the world too much. Obviously, if Meghan wants to come back under any circumstances, Meghan can come back.

When the publication went on toask if Markle had an open invitation to return to the cast of the NBC series, Korsh acknowledged that whileMarkle would always be welcome back, the logistics of reintroducing her would be too complicated. Check out the rest of Korsh’s response regarding the star’s return below:
Of course. Of course. Always. But I think realistically, it would be too much of an explosion of the fourth wall to do that. Yeah.

What This Means For Markle’s Suits Legacy & LA Appearance
A Return Would Be A Challenge, But Not Impossible
With the original show’s resurgence in popularity, fueled by its streaming success on Netflix and Peacock, andSuits LAgearing up for its debuton February 23, viewers have been speculating whether the original ensemble could return in some way, as Gabriel Macht’s Harvey Specter is set to appear. Korsh’s comments make it clear that while Markle’s return isn’t completely out of the question, it would require careful execution to maintain the show’s realism. Given Markle’s real-life transition from actor to Duchess of Sussex, reintegrating her into the story would pose unique challenges for the spinoff show.
There’s 1 Thing That Got Better In Suits After Mike & Rachel Left
Suits struggled after the exits of Jessica, Mike, and Rachel, but there is one thing that seasons 8 and 9 did better than the previous ones.
The decision also relies on Markle, who retired from acting in 2018, and it is unknown if she has a desire to come back to the craft. Markle has served as a narrator for Disneynature’sElephantin 2020 and is now coming back to the industry with her new lifestyle seriesWith Love, Meghan, set to premiere on March 4 on Netflix. While reintroducing Rachel Zane seems unrealistic,Markle could potentially return in a behind-the-scenes capacity, such as producer or guest director, keeping her connection toSuitsalive without disrupting the show.
Our Take On The Potential For Markle’s Suits LA Cameo
It Would Be Exciting, But Unlikely
Meghan Markle’s portrayal of Rachel Zane is still a fan favorite, and her return would undoubtedly generate major buzz. However, her life has taken a drastic turn since leaving the series, which makes a return to acting seem unlikely.
