Harrison Ford’s Thunderbolt Ross will transform intoRed Hulk inCaptain America 4, andit’s likely he’ll go on a rampage that Sam Wilson needs to stop. However,Sam will have a difficult time stopping Red Hulk by himself, meaning he may need help from other MCU heroes.It’s unclear if Red Hulk’s rampage will extend pastBrave New World, but the MCU could use this opportunity to adapt a version ofWorld War Hulk.
Red Hulk Is A Better MCU Candidate For World War Hulk
World War Hulkis one of the most legendary storylines in the history of Hulk comics. The 2007 story begins with Hulk and his pregnant wife being banished from Earth by the Illuminati. After the spaceship explodes and kills his wife,Hulk blames the Illuminati for her death and returns to Earth for revenge.However, his vengeance extends past the Illuminati and threatens Earth as a whole, leading to destruction and devastation that needs to be stopped.
How Big Is Red Hulk Compared To The MCU’s Hulk?
Red Hulk is officially coming to the MCU as per the Captain America: Brave New World trailer, but how much will he tower over the movie’s protagonist?
World War Hulkis an excellent story because it shows the Avengers' nightmares fully realized. What if Hulk’s rage was used for brutality rather than protection? Unfortunately, since Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk is no longer a rage machine, it no longer makes sense to adapt this storyline with his character. However,Red Hulk allows the MCU to tell a story where Hulk is on a rampage and needs to be stopped by the Avengers.It may not have thepersonal touch ofWorld War Hulk, but it would be cool to see a project where a Hulk is the central villain.
Why Red Hulk’s World War Hulk Story Would Prevent An Awkward MCU Hulk Change
The MCU’s Bruce Banner has full control over his rage and strength.He is incredibly relaxed, and knows how to Hulk out while keeping his composure. Red Hulk prevents the MCU from rapidly changing Bruce’s character arc while still giving audiences an MCU Hulk rampage they want to see. However, there is still a chance Banner could Hulk out after his latest revelation.
She-Hulk ended with Hulk introducinghis son, Skaar, who he recently met after traveling in space. The details of his son are unknown, but if it follows the comics, then Skaar was conceived during Hulk’s time on Sakaar. If something happens to Skaar, that could be the trigger that enrages Hulk again. Red Hulk is the MCU’s best chance at aWorld War Hulkstoryline, but it’s not impossible for Bruce to revert to the green rage monster.
