Powerplex Fills The Role Of Bruce Wayne

Invincibleseason 3, episode 6 is all about Powerplex, and the story is almost identical to that ofBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The episode opens with a flashback to Invincible and Omni-Man’s fight from the end ofInvincibleseason 1. This time, however, it is focused on Powerplex, who is there on the ground with his sister and her child. This is incredibly similar toBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’s opening, which follows Bruce Wayne on the ground during Superman and Zod’s fight fromMan of Steel.

Invincible Season 3 Is Delaying The Viltrumite Invasion Storyline, But For A Good Reason

Invincible season 2 began teasing the impending Viltrumite invasion, but the show is wisely delaying its big storyline despite being a risky strategy.

After that, the episode focuses on Powerplex using his powers and technology to take down Invincible. Despite Mark Grayson being a hero,Powerplex believes that Viltrumites are too powerfuland can’t be trusted after the destruction that they caused. This parallels the motivations of Batman in the DCEU film, with Bruce Wayne having an immense distrust of Superman due to his powers.

They Still Are Rivals At The End

One of the most notorious parts ofBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justiceis the “Martha” moment, in which the two characters realize that both of their mothers have the same name. This leads them to team up to take down Lex Luthor and Doomsday, a narrative choice that divided fans.

Invincible: Why Is Allen the Alien So Strong in Season 3

Invincible’s Allen the Alien just keeps coming back. And with each return he’s stronger than ever, but how and why?

Despite the similarities betweenInvincibleandBatman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the former doesn’t do this. When the episode ends, Powerplex is in a GDA prison, still hating Invincible. Based on the comics, the two heroes have a rivalry for a while, meaning thatInvincible’s “Martha” moment probably isn’t coming.
