There are alsono details known about her whereabouts following her survival of the 1997 movie, despite the franchise continuing after that installment with the 2006 direct-to-video sequelI’ll Always Know What You Did Last Summerand a short-lived Prime Video reboot series that ran for one season in 2021. Although the surviving characters Julie and Ray are mentioned briefly inI’ll Always Know, Karla is not referenced at all in either property.

Brandy has similarly not appeared in theI Know What You Did Last Summercastin any capacity since her 1997 appearance, leaving the character’s fate a complete mystery. However, before an epilogue showing Julie and Ray being menaced once more by the killer that may ultimately prove to have been a nightmare, Karla was shown embracing Julie after surviving their slasher ordeal. I Know What You Did Last Summercould easily fold her into the legacy characters' storyline, especially if Jennifer Love Hewitt reprises her role. It is not outside the realm of possibility that Julie and Karla could have continued to be friends after the events of the 1997 movie, especially considering the fact that Karla and Ray are the only surviving people Julie’s age that she has in her life. It would make perfect sense for Karla to still be involved in Julie’s affairs, especially if she becomes wrapped up in another string of mysterious murders.
