Star Wars: Skeleton Crewactually cut a thrilling Jedi cameo; was it Jod Na Nawood’s master, or the first member of Luke Skywalker’s New Jedi Order? The latest excitingStar WarsTV show,Skeleton Crewhas come to a thrilling end. The truth about Jod Na Nawood has apparently been revealed; he was never a true Jedi, simply one who encountered anOrder 66 survivorand received some rudimentary training. No Jedi actually appeared in the show at all… but it turns out one was cut.
Attentive viewers noticed Yasmine Al Massri (Castlevania,Quantico,Crossbones) appeared on the cast list forSkeleton Crew. Now,Al Massri has revealed she was actually a Jedi. Taking to Instagram, she explained that she filmed one scene inSkeleton Crew- the first female Arab Jedi. It’s absolutely heartbreaking to see Al Massri’s scene cut, and it can only be hoped her mysterious character returns.

Was Al Massri Playing Jod Na Nawood’s Mentor… Or Someone Even More Exciting?
Her comment doesn’t give any real indication
Skeleton Crewepisode 8 revealed thebackstory of Jude Law’s Jod Na Nawood. According to Jod, he was a Force-sensitive child brought up in poverty who was discovered by an Order 66 survivor - one who died before his eyes. There were no flashbacks here, just a simple account, and showrunners Jon Watts and Christopher Ford have explained it’s because they wanted to center the show on the kids' experience. Many are assuming Al Massri was Jod’s master, and that there was once a flashback.
I think this is an unwise assumption, though. Al Massri has shared an image of herself in Jedi robes, complete with a Padawan braid. No Order 66 survivor would last more than a few days if they didn’t actively conceal their identity; even Obi-Wan Kenobi showed a degree of wariness. It seems to me more likely that Al Massri’s Jedi was a member ofLuke Skywalker’s New Jedi Order, a new Padawan recruit who came in with the X-Wings to save At Attin.

Our Take On Al Massri’s Jedi
The possibilities are devastating
That latter possibility makes the decision to cut Al Massri’s Jedi even more devastating.Star Warshas revealed precious little about Luke’s Jedi Order, which was wiped out by the time of the prequel trilogy. The Book of Boba Fettsaw Luke establish his Jedi Temple on Ossus, and that’s set at the same kind of tiem atStar Wars: Skeleton Crew. If Al Massri was indeed a member of Luke’s Jedi Order, then it can only be hoped she’ll be brought back soon.
