However, certain items called soaks can be added to your Gourd to transform the drink within it to provide other benefits as well. These alternate drinks can also be upgraded to give you stronger effects beyond just helping you recover from damage in battle.
Gourds can be broken down into three parts - the Gourd itself, the drink inside the Gourd, and the soaks added to alter a drink’s properties. Gourds have various base effects, but many are defined by the maximum number of drinks they can hold. For example, a Gourd could heal you and help yourecover from poison inBlack Myth: Wukong, but it has fewer drinks than your standard Gourd.

Each sip recovers 60% of your max HP but temporarily impairs movement.

Each sip recovers 35% of your max HP. When your HP is below 50%, and you drink, you also gain extra Focus from a sip.

For a brief moment after using the Gourd, a small amount of health is slowly recovered.

Drinks and soaks should not be confused withmedicines inBlack Myth: Wukong, which are consumable items used to give you stat upgrades rather than healing effects from sipping your Gourd.
Upgrades for your Gourd cost Luojia Fragrant Vines, whileupgrades to drinks cost Awaken Wine Wormitems. These objects can be spent on your best Gourd or drink to increase the number of sips it has or improve its healing properties respectfully. Unfortunately, soaks cannot be upgraded, but you’re able to find plenty more in each Chapter as you explore regions and take down bosses.
