Shiny Passimian is finally making itsPokémon GOdebut during a special Raid Day event in September 2024, meaning Trainers will be able to catch both Passimian and Oranguru in their rare Shiny variants. Although Shiny Oranguru has been available to encounter sincePokémon GOFest 2023, this is the first time Shiny Passimian has appeared in the mobile game.
These two primates first appeared inPokémon Sun & Moonon the Nintendo 3DS, with the lemur-inspired Passimian being exclusive to the Sun version of the game and theorangutan-inspired Orangurubeing exclusive to the Moon version of the game. They’re considered counterparts, so Shiny hunters will no doubt be eager to add them both to their Shiny Pokémon collection to make the perfect pair.

The Psychic Cup is the perfect time for your Psychic-type Pokémon to shine in Pokémon GO, but you’ll need the best team if you want to win.

If you do manage to find a Shiny Passimian or Oranguru, you’ll know straight away as their color schemes are quite different from their regular variants. Shiny Passimian has blue and orange features, while Shiny Oranguru gets a pastel pink color scheme instead of its usual white fur. Shinies also sparkle when moving to the catch screen, and a star symbol will appear next to their name, so it’s a lot clearer than the mainline Pokémon games.
If you miss out on the Research Day: Oranguru and Passimian event, thechances of encountering a Shiny Passimian or Oranguru will be drastically reduced. These two Pokémon also have quite low spawn rates inPokémon GO, so even finding a regular version could be a challenge. It’s likely they’ll both return with boosted wild spawns in future events, so make sure you keep an eye out for that.
