How To Defeat Dro (Tips & Tricks)

Stay Far Enough Away To Keep Up Pressure

The best strategy for defeating Dro is tostay far away from the boss at all timesif you can help it. This is much easier to do when you have multiple characters fighting the boss inHyper Light Breaker’s multiplayer co-op. However, if you’re on your own, you have to stay as mobile as Dro can be to avoid the swings of the Crown’s large sword.

Drosummons multiple minions throughout the boss fight, which can overwhelm you fast. Your goal should be to eliminate a good portion of Dro’s allies before focusing back on the boss to deal some damage. Long-range weapons typically do well against Dro since the boss performs most of their attacks only when they get within melee range.

Bullet Swarm

Dro howls into the air, causing a large orb of energy to appear. From this orb, a swarm of projectiles is summoned, creating a bullet hell of traveling orbs that move in different directions.

Dodge and run between gaps in the projectile swarm to avoid getting hit by any orbs. Dro can move shortly after summoning the central orb behind this attack, so keep avoiding his other attacks as well.

Dro’s most powerful attack, Bullet Swarm, does not occur until the boss is around half health. Any of Dro’s attacks can chain together, such as a Double Swing connecting immediately into Ring of Flame. This is especially true during the later stages of the Crown fight as Dro gets more and more desperate to end the run of you and any of your friends.

As long as you recognize and counter Dro’s maneuvers while keeping your distance, you should be able to defeat the Crown boss eventually. Those who beat Dro inHyper Light Breakerwill be rewarded with Abyss Stones, which can help unlock new characters for future runs.
