Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2has steadily been receiving new content since it launched in September 2024. From new weapons, modes, enemy types, and maps, so much has been added to keep players busy. It’s been an extremely generous offering, especially as all of these updates - outside of some new cosmetics for specific factions - have been completely free. However, it has kept the community alive and strong, much to the delight of Saber Interactive, the game’s developer.

Of course, despite all the amazing content that’s already been added, players are eager to know what will beadded toSpace Marine 2in 2025. Fortunately,Saber Interactive has outlined a lot of the upcoming features, and when players can roughly expect to get them. Naturally, those curious to know not only when the next update will drop, but what it will include, will be very happy.

An updated roadmap for Space Marine 2 showcasing the features coming in 2025.

Space Marine 2 Will Get New Content Every 2 Months

Saber Interactive recently posted an update aboutSpace Marine 2’s2025 roadmapvia a lengthy breakdown of all the upcoming features on Focus Entertainment’s website. In this update, the developer explained that a lot is coming toSpace Marine 2over the coming months, and offered a more up-to-date roadmap image detailing all the new features fans can get excited about. However, most importantly,Saber Interactive also confirmed that new major updates forWarhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2will be roughly two months apart from one another, explaining:

Space Marine 2has been out for 4 months, and your continued enthusiasm means the world to us. We’re not done with it! You can expect updates every two months. We’d love to do more, but we’re committed to delivering polished updates, which takes time and care! Thank you for your patience, understanding, and unwavering support.

This is largely in keeping with its current release strategy, withSpace Marine 2receiving major updateswithin just its first four months. Saber Interactive initially had to work hard to iron out any major issues and implement some much-needed quality-of-life changes before it could begin introducing new features. However, thanks toSpace Marine 2’simpressive sales numbers, it is able to push out significant updates at a steady paceto ensure that the community doesn’t drop off any time soon.

New Weapons, Modes, And More Are Coming

In that aforementioned post, Saber Interactive laid out all the content coming toWarhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2in 2025. While it will undoubtedly release smaller patches that addressSpace Marine 2’sweapon balancingamong other quality-of-life changes, these significant content drops will serve as the developer’s continued efforts to keep the game as active as possible. This includes more modes, new skins, weapons, and enemy types, as well as missions for the Operations mode. Here is everything that’s coming in 2025:

There will be several other significant updates that aren’t mentioned in the roadmap, including introducing FOV sliders on PC - which is something the community has been wanting for quite some time - continued reworking of perks, emotes, the ability to toggle crossplay on and off, new finisher animations, and a lot more. Of course, all of this will help improve theamazingSpace Marine 2experience, while ensuring that the community is respected, something that has evidentially been at the heart of Saber Interactive’s strategy and the game’s long-term success.

Is Two Months Enough To Keep Space Marine 2 Players Happy?

It Is A Reasonable Turn Around

Some may feel that two months between major releases is a long time, especially as while the Operations mode is infinitely replayable, and the PvP mode is becoming increasingly more fleshed out, there are only so many unlockables to work towards before progression becomes redundant. However, while for some it may feel like an eternity,it is not only standard practice for a lot of live service games, especially those withSpace Marine 2’sbudget, but it also ensures that Saber Interactive has enough time to make sure every update is up to a high standard.

Is Space Marine 2 Worth Playing If You Don’t Know Warhammer 40K Lore?

Space Marine 2 seems really connected with Warhammer 40K Lore, so is it worth playing if you don’t know anything about the series first?

The community and casual players have a lot of requests, and Saber Interactive is trying to deal with all of them while likelyplanning a sequel or DLC. Two months between major updates, with patches and minor additions coming in between, seems like a reasonable timeframe considering everything Saber Interactive has to do.
