Warning: There are spoilers ahead for Dune: Prophecy season 1, episode 4, “Twice Born.”
Dune: Prophecyactor Mark Addy compares Evgeny Harkonnen’s death to the demise of hisGame of Thronescharacter, King Robert Baratheon. Despite ruling the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros,Robert infamously dies from being wounded by a boarwhile drunkenly hunting the creature. As for Addy’sDune: Prophecycharacter, Evgeny is the uncle of Valya (Emily Watson) and Tula (Olivia Williams) Harkonnen and blames Valya for being the source of the family’s misfortune and their inability to reclaim their former glory. Evgeny dies on the floor after Valya refuses to give her uncle his medicine.

While speaking withScreen Rant’s Tatiana Hullender,Addy explains that he believes both Evgeny and Robert deserve their"inglorious deaths.“He discusses how Robert is more regretful toward the end of his life, with the character reflecting on how he could have been a better king and a better father while Evgeny is more focused on his hatred of Valya. Despite these different emotions, Addy sees Robert and Evgeny as"two sides of the same coin.“Check out Addy’s comments below:
Ooh, blimey. They’re almost two sides of the same coin. They’re the yin and the yang. I think Robert probably had more regrets, because Evgeny just felt hatred towards Valya. That was his overriding emotion, I think, by the end. They both died inglorious deaths, and they both deserved it, to be fair.

What This Means For Dune: Prophecy
Mark Addy’s Performance Strengthens Dune: Prophecy
Evgeny’s death is one of the best parts ofDune: Prophecyepisode 4. Valya is in the process of carrying out ambitious plans that will affect the Imperium for thousands of years to come, but none of this is as compelling as her more personal confrontation with her uncle. Despite all the power she has gained through the Sisterhood,Valya is still wounded by the way Evgeny and nearly every Harkonnen turned their backs on her. Valya is vulnerable when she confronts her uncle, whose palpable hatred seems to be doing more to keep him alive than his medicine.
The Sisterhood’s Shared Nightmare In Dune: Prophecy Explained
The Sisterhood’s shared nightmare in Dune: Prophecy episode 4 “Twice Born” reveals harrowing truths about the impending Reckoning.
Seeing Valya allowing her uncle to die helplessly on the floor is chilling moment is episode 4’s most emotionally resonant moment.Addy’s performance elevates a character who could have been forgettablein another actor’s hands and makes it believable that the Harkonnen family’s hateful attitude toward Valya could still have a hold over her all these years later. The only disappointing element of this is that Addy’s time inDune: Prophecy’s storyhas seemingly come to an end.

Our Take On Mark Addy’s Comments
He Makes Evgeny And Robert Fascinating To Watch
Addy has an insightful understanding of hisDune: ProphecyandGame of Thronescharacters. In just four episodes, hehas delivered one of theDuneprequel’s best performances. InGame of Thrones, he makes Robert arguably more compelling than he is in George R.R. Martin’s source material, especially during a reflective scene between Robert and Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey). Despite only being inGame of Thronesseason 1, Addy still has one of the show’s most memorable performances by the end of the series.Dune: ProphecyandGame of Thronesgreatly benefit from Addy’s acting.
